Just a week after I announce that I had no new currency I suddenly receive a new one in my change, actually it was a new two. Yes they are still making new two dollar bills as recently as August of 2012.
The most recent $2 bills have the series year 2009. As with most $2 bills there are no major design changes and only the signatures were updated. Minimal security features are present. The entire 2009 series were printed between February and August of 2012.
Good to see these notes are still circulating and being produced. I can only hope that the other notes that are series 2009 or later are as easy to find.
Here's the stats...

I have several paper Australian $20 dollar banknotes and would like to know their value but am non the wiser about their year (However I do know that this involves the signatures):
VUH 380254 Johnston / Fraser (EF)
VNF 515089 Johnston / Stone (VF)
VFC 570865 Knight / Stone (VF)
VTF 959342 Johnston / Fraser (EF)
VQP 084861 Johnstin / Fraser (VF)
There is also a SUPERBLY preserved Australian 1983 Ten Cent piece. I would not hesitate to call this coin even Brilliant UNC as there is NO scratch anywhere on the coin, the coin is still FULL of lustre and is beautifully toned a silvery colour. (A grader would probably say other wise but it is quite good.)
Sadly these notes aren't mine but a relatives and they say I will inherit them when he dies as they make up the first Pay Packet he ever received from working.
