Silver is slowly getting to $25.00 per ounce which should be the new normal. It was undervalue at $18.00 and now we may see an upswing in all metals due to world issues and holiday sales. This is another common Morgan that is great to invest in.
When picking up Morgan Dollars for investment try and make sure LIBERTY is clear and there are no major scratches or gouges. Aside from those points everything else is fine, toning, weak spots, gunk, and even cleaning will not affect silver value.

I want to take it to a coin show coming up on sept 14-15 and I hope I can get it graded. it is reasonably shiny and has purply luster and tone. I think it would be around aunc or maybe even unc because it has no bag wear or marks on it. I got very excited and wrapped it up in some tissues to protect it and was thinking about it all day. can you also please tell me how much grading a coin like that would cost?

Grading one coin at a show is typically $65 or more. That said often discount for new members or kids apply but that all depends on the show.
wow $65 dollars is a lot for just one coin why so much? that said a lot of dealers are going to be coming so i can afford to shop around for cheaper prices and i will probably even bring my album!

That is typical it keeps people from sending in junk, fakes, or low grade coins.
