Old Dollar Find

Do you have old currency and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

After Christmas I went to do some post-holiday shopping and received this bill in my change.

I found a 1935H dollar also known as a silver certificate. Notice the seal is blue instead of green.

The H in 1935H means the design was modified from the original 1935 bill, probably to add a new signature of a treasurer.

Here's a sample of what I found in my change over the last ten years.
$1.00 bills
1935E value in very good(VG) = $1.50
1935H value in VG = $2.00
1957-star note value in VG = $2.00
1957A value in VG = $1.25
1969B value in VG = $1.25

$2.00
1928G value in VG = $7.50
1953A value in VG = $4.00

$20.00
1950C value in VG = $25.00

Of course some are higher grades but most are very good.

Prices updated to 2008.

Do you have old bills and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

1042 dollars worth, for Comments/Questions click here.:

I have a roll of uncut $1 bills. How much would this be worth?

Man said...

roll of uncut $1 bills.

Depends on year, at one serial number, and number of bills in the sheet.

So 1950, B12345678*, 12-sheet is worth more than...2003-A, F12345678A, 4-sheet.

Hi. I have a $1 silver dollar and would like to know how much it is worth. On the right is "blue" with Washington, DC and is a series 1935A. The serial # is X 26089480 C . It was signed by Henry Morganthare Jr. -secretary of treasury and the treasurer of united states was signed by M.A. Sueiau. On the left of the dollar has a 1 and had written "this certificate is legal tender for all debts, public, and private. Also on the far right of the dollar has J5846. On the back of the dollar it does not have "in god we trust" on it. Can you tell me how much this is worth?

I was wondering how much my $1 bill would be worth. The date is 1963B but I am not sure where to find the serial number.

The serial number is written twice on the front.
For example: T 42377160 A

On average these bills are about $1.25 in very-fine.

My husband found a odd coin. One side is a penny & the other side is a dime. Its like it was compressed together. We put a single penny & a single dime together and it is thicker than the one that is compressed. Any clue on how this happened? Would it be worth anything? Thank you. Nancy

A fake or Magic coin either way no extra value.

I know this isn't quite the right spot to leave a comment about coins, since this is a bill area, but I can't find what would be the correct area. If possible, could you give me a link to a page I should post that kind of question on?

I found a 1997 D in near mint condition..everything about it seems normal. However when you compare it to other coins its appearence is rather strange. It looks litterally like it was made out of gold. No dents, scratches, or any signs of being tampered with or worn. It's surface is completely spotless and unlike other coins the color does not vary over the surface of it. Any idea why this could be? The only explanation I can think of is if someone gold plated it.

Correct a thin cheap gold plating makes the coin look special but it is not.

This is done outside the mint and is considered damage. No extra value.

Also comment anywhere, but the newer post are always easier to find.
