I have enclosed a picture of the front of one and the back of another

This was beyond my knowledge, beyond my Web search, even beyond my books. So I looked into my network of collectors who also never saw this error.
The small yellow "20"s on the back is an anti-copying security feature,
--Check for the nylon thread on the front to the left of the left side-dark seal.
--Check for the watermark of Jackson's head on the front to the right of the right-sided green seal.
--Hold the bill in front of a light to see the hidden features.
If they are not there then you have counterfeit bills. Which also has value.
If they are there then the bills are real and according to my source each bill is worth $200.00 for a total of $1,600.00. (This is only an educated guess since yours are the first reported.)

If I have more updates or find them on eBay I'll post a link but I'd try to sell half of them to a local dealer before more are found.
Here is a cool error that sold on eBay for $10,100 in May 2003 and now sold at $25,300.
It's called the "banana note" and has a Del Monte sticker that fell on it midway during printing and was not caught and destroyed.Do you have note or currency and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

This is a common misalignment it has no extra value.
Only if it has a piece of another bill coming up from the bottom does it have value.

I have a seties 1996 $50 dollar bill that the printing on the front face is off-set to the left and up. The upper left 50 is right at the top of the bill and part of the next bill on the sheet when it was made is showing on the bottom left. It is fine and normal.
This happens when a normal note is destroyed at the printing time and gets a star replacement.
Depending on year and serial number it may have extra value.

I have a very interesting error bill collection which I believe is rare. It is an uncirculated 1977 US $5 bill missing the back printing completely. What makes the collection so rare is that I also have the prior and subsequent $5 bills in sequential order which are printed normally and also uncirculated. From what I understand about how bills are printed, it is unusual for only one bill in a sequence to be missing back printing. Please advise.
1) The bills are in sequential order by serial number
2) The middle bill was struck without any printing on the back
3) The bills are uncirculated
As you know, because of the way in which bills are printed, this is exceedingly rare for a bill to be printed without anything on the back, especially with the prior and subsequent bill being printed as normal.
Attached is an image of the bills in b&W. Let me know if you think there would be interest in the auction for this collection.

Bills are printed in sheets so if the bill is 00800001 then the one next to it is 00000001.
That said they are stacked sequentially and finding them together is good.

This is not an error.
That motto was not added until 1957.
The average 1934 $100 bill is about $120.00 of course it depends on serial number, back number, and condition.

I think you mean the watermark not the hologram.
This is a Transposed Currency Stock error and the govt admitted making 320,000 1996 $100 bills in the wrong position.
By admitting the mistake they became unpopular and are about $125.00 in circulated condition.

Tat 1929 Natinal 50.00 has a slight shift on the layer that says "series of 1929" and what ever else is on that layer is maybe a 1/16th or so off.. Does that help the value at all..?

No. All these slight off-centered or shifting errors actually lowers the value.
Only large errors or perfectly centered have the most value.

It should be on the back to the right in the center. If not it was probably faded because of the fold.
It's about $120.00 maybe less if the not a hint of the back number is visible.

This could be a minor error but instead of bringing it to the bank you should bring it to a coin dealer or a local coin club.
If it is crisp then it would be $500.00.
Less then crisp or having any folds brings it down to $120.00.

Only by getting it graded at PCGS and if grades above Extra-fine the price will increase.
You can sell it on eBay without grading but to get the most it should be graded.
Check eBay for "ink smear dollar" there should be some results.

I have been hearing about these for years and it is some kind of solvent error or insufficient ink error but either way it has no extra value...yet.
It is possible a market may develop for these but most collectors have stayed away.

Yes it is rare, I've seen very few at auction and this was years ago.

Hi, I have a 1996 $100 dollar bill in brand-new condition, never creased or folded (not in the middle either) but the right side of Franklin's face seems smudged or misprinted. His right eye is messed up in print too.

1996 $100 dollar bill in brand-new condition, never creased or folded (not in the middle either) but the right side of Franklin's face seems smudged or misprinted. His right eye is messed up in print too.
This sounds like a very minor Ink Smear error and it does not carry extra value.
You can always verify it with a grading company like PCGS but it would cost more to verify than the value of the error.

I have a 1995 $20 note that has all the serial numer and seal printed on the back.
It is in absolutely crisp shape. I got t out of an ATM machine among a few other new bills. I noticed the misprint right away.
I was in college so I had my backpack (books, photo gear, etc.) with me and remebered I had a few archival negative sleeves with me. I carefully took the bill and put it in one of the sleeves and placed it in a book. It's been there ever since and has only been taken out a few (less than 5) times.
I have had it scanned in, by I am wondering what reputable dealer in the Seattle area could I take it to and have it priced.

I do not know of any Seattle Dealers but if you look at the http://www.pcgs.com/dealers/ site they have dealers who have been certified and would be more reputable than most.

If you mean the serial numbers are not in the center but are Misaligned then it's about $250.00 each.

I'm here because I have a 1950 Series A mis-print, with the back looking OK but the front image is shifted up such that the words "Federal Reserve Note" run right along the top edge. Also, image is at a small angle, such that the left top corner of image just includes the thin black line and whitespace that borders the image, and angles down to the right side of the bill, ending with the black line and white-space being cut off..
Also, in the enlarged white-space below the image, about 3/4", there is a black line centered horizontally, and another little black line on the right edge that lines up woth the center mark.
Any info?

Yes, 10 years ago these notes were about $75.00, 2 years ago these notes were about $175.00, they have been going up fast but waiting too long may not be wise.

This is a minor Ink Smear error if the seal is completely dark where no words are visible it's about $50.00.
But if it is just heavy ink and all the words can be read it is maybe $5.00.
The only problem witht he seal is partial obliteration of the "1789" date on the Treasury seal .

This may inch it up a few dollars but not near $50 unless it it the right auction, many people on eBay and other auction sites have good luck with certified and raw errors.
The fact it is a star note may help.

I would like to find out some info on a bank note first time seen by me happening to be from the then national bank of my current residence in Far Rockaway NY. This note is a 1929 10$ note and it bears the brand of The National bank of Far Rockaway NY its in VF 30 condition. Is there any way to find out how many of these notes were printed and the current value?

I know the charter number is 9271 and at least 500 were made but I don't know the Friedberg number.
The exact details are not known to me but in fine it's about $300.00.
In very it's about $550.00.
They are more scarce then most National Notes but exactly how I don't know. Try a national notes forum or email someone who is selling them because they are difficult to track.

Hi - I have a Series 2004 A $20.00 bill with a marking I have never seen before. The serial number is GF 01282641*. That's right, the last character is the outline of a small star. It is a 10 numeral serial number with a suffix of a star rather than a letter. I don't know anything about this situation. Can you help?

This is a Star Note it is issued when a normal note gets damaged and a quick replacement is substituted. They are very collectible.
Although they are less common the one you found is not rare, it's about $22.50.

Ebay, but only if your good with eBay selling. Otherwise find a local collector or just use it as normal because unless high grades these are common stars difficult to sell for profit.

Got this from the ATM with 9 others; noticed right off this one had a much lighter color than the rest, just looked different. Did some Googling, found your site and the post from the lady who had 8 consecutive with no little 20’s on the back (back in 2006). Got out the magnifying glass, saw that there are no little 20’s…but it does have the nylon thread and the watermark (see pics). It’s a 1996, not crisp, but not too soft, either; one little tiny tear at middle of top, has been folded.
Any idea what it may be worth today? TIA!!

For the 1996 series they were not made with the little 20s. So your bills are normal.

Sounds like a fake that I personally found 3 of them.
If the dime is silver color and the cent is brown then it is a fake.
That said if the whole thing is one color then it might be a true error worth thousands but it must be professionally graded.

It could be wear but it could also be an Insufficient Ink error but it would be so minor that it hase no extra value.
If it is crisp-uncirculated it is more likely to be the error.

The images are not the best but the stamp looks odd maybe an attempt at fraud.
I've never seen this type of error.
Try an error expert like fredweinberg.com or different currency forum.

In 1985 I went into a store a bought something. I pulled two 20 dollar bills out of my wallet to pay for the item.
The clerk said, "hey something is wrong with this 20 dollar bill". I asked to see it and it had a missing overprint (1985 year).

Hello I have recently come in contact with a crisp 06 20$ bill no folds creases or rounded edges. This shocking me because its rare to see currency in circulation in such fine condition I had also noticed something else about the bill that I thought would be best to ask an expert. When I turned the bill over to the reverse side I had noticed that the serial number had sort of passed through the paper and was legiable on to the other side. It seems to me to be an extra hard press but a tad bit of over inking also had occured . Would this bill have any value thats worth preserving. If pictures are needed to make analaysis please let me know adress where to send.

This sounds like an Offset Printing error but it is a minor one so it has no extra value.

we were talking before about a twenty dollar bill star onte that is off center in the front and back. I told you the serial number started with hk but i was wrong. The number is EK 00116500 followed by a star. border on the top in the front is barely showing and the bottom is bigger. The back has a lot more on the bottom than the top. Again the off-center is not worth anything extra while the star note itself is about $22.50.
