Do you have a Canadian coin and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.
Here are two pictures I recently took of all the Canadian coins I've found in my change. I've found about to 300 coins from Canada here in New York City.
The picture as you can tell was taken twice one with flash and the other with indoor lights. I'm still not comfortable shooting my coins with a camera.
This is the average condition of modern circulating Canadians. Notice the almost proof-like quality.
Here's what I've found and there average value.
Canadian Pennies: Oldest=1943, Newest=2005,2005P, Average value=$0.10
Canadian Nickels: Oldest=1964, Newest=2003P, Average value=$0.20
Canadian Dimes: Oldest=1953, Newest=2005P, Average value=$0.15
Canadian Quarters: Oldest=1956, Newest=2004P, Average value=$0.30
Canadian Two-Dollars: Only the one from 1996, Average value=$3.00
Toronto Transit Token: Circa 1954, Average value=Not sure but I've seen it for $1.00 on eBay.
As you can see I've never found a fifty cent or dollar coin, also I've found silver but no coin older then the WWII years.

I have a 1960 canadian silver dollar and I am just wondering if there is any value to it.
1960 canadian silver dollar has book value of $5.00 in almost uncirculated condition.
But seeing how silver is approaching $9.00 an ounce I'll guess,
Extra fine grade = $6.75
Almost Uncirculated = $7.50
I have a 1944 Canadian nickel and just wondered if it was worth more.

I have a 1905 lilly Saskatewan coin its big and looks like a dollar coin but no $ markings good condition I also have a lot of .50 cent silver coins dated as early as 1953 and Canadian dollar coins dated as far back as 1954, Do you know there value?.thanks for your time
I never heard of a Lily Saskatewan coin and with no $ amount means it is a medal or private mint coin made maybe in 2005 for the centennial of Alberta.
For the 50 cents they average $2.00 in fine grade.
For the 1 dollars they average $5.00 in fine grade, and 1955 is a key year because of an error some are worth 9 times the average price..
I have a 1940 Canadian Nickle. On the back is a picture of a man and around the rim it says...
"Georgivs VI D:G:REX ET-IND:IMP:
Any comments or how much it is worth I would like to hear from anyone.
Thanks- Steve from Montreal Canada
1940 Canadian Nickle has King George VI on it is worth $3.50 Canadian or $3.00 American in extremely fine.
In circulating condition usually its Very-Good is about $0.15 American.
i have found two canadian dimes that are from the 60's but the dates on them are bigger than all the rest how much if anything are these coins worth?
two Canadian dimes that are from the 60's but the dates on them are bigger
The dates for 1965-68 dimes were larger then normal and in 1969 they became small again.
This led to one of the rarest dimes in modern coinage a large date 1969 worth thousands.
i have a 1903 canadian dime and 1934 quarter any value.
coins..50 cent american 1977 and 1971. 5 cent american, picture of indian on back , the front has a bisson no date. 25 cent canadian 1867-1967 picture of cat, any value..
american dime 1943 any valve
All values will be in fine which means all details show and kind of worn.
Canadian
1903 dime about $16.00
1934 quarter about $9.00
25 cent 1867-1967 about $1.00
American
1977 50 cent about $0.60
1971 50 cent about $0.60
No date buffalo nickel about $0.30
1943 dime about $1.00
NOTE: Saskatchewan and Alberta shared a centennial, so the Sask lily coin was probably from that.
I have a 1867-16-967 Lynx quarter. Any Value
1867-1967 Lynx quarter
The average $1.50 in mint state because they are silver.
There are two versions an 80% with about $2.00 worth of silver.
And a 50% with about $1.30 worth of silver.
There is no way to tell them apart so that is why they average $1.50.
I have this REALLY old coin. It appears to be something called "constantiners" or at least from that time period? It seems as if there are three series of this coin? Series I is from
250-306, series II is from 337-361 and series III is from 361-421. I have NO idea which of these this coin is. The language on it seems forein. I cannot make out what it says on either side. Is there anything you could possibly tell me about this coin???? I know this is very vague. .. .sorry!
"constantiners"
It is too vague for me. These are ancient coins and while I know some it is not enough to help.

Hi, i have a 1956 canadian penny that seemed to have been stamped in nickel (well, looks like the same metal as the canadian nickel).
Is this a "misprint" ?
How much would it be worth ?
Tx
1956 Canadian penny that seemed to have been stamped in nickel (well, looks like the same metal as the canadian nickel).
It should weigh 3.24 grams if copper coated with some nickel. This would make it worth nothing over face.
If it weighs anything more or less it maybe an error. I never heard of this one but it is possible.
In fine it should be at least $50.00 if you get all the dimensions and a good picture you may want to contact Fred Weinberg he is a error coin expert.
Hi I have a canadian quarter that has no date stamped on it. The queen is the younger version of her. Do you have any idea what it is worth?
canadian quarter that has no date stamped on it. The queen is the younger version of her. Do you have any idea what it is worth?
I would need to know what designs, if any, are on either side of the coin. But it should have a date most likely it is a commemorative like the 1867-1992.
If it's in mint state it is about $1.00.
If it's an error it would be a "filled die" adding to the value only a few cents.
i have a 1953 canadian penny with no picture of elizabeth the 2nd on it, how much is it worth?
1953 canadian penny with no picture of Elizabeth the 2nd on it
While I never seen this error it may be struck through grease or something. I suspect it is altered or damaged. No extra value.
To be certain you need to take a clear picture and get the weight and maybe contact error expert Fred Weinberg he could help more.

Upper Canada was New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
Lower Canada was everything else.

I have one of those George Washington dollar coins that is a misprint. I would have to say the caondition of the coin is very good. How much would you say this coin is.
I have a roman silver coin that dates back to 223 AD. Features on the coin is Servus Alexander. The conditon of the coin is good. You can still se the lines through the hair. Few little details.
George Washington dollar coins that is a misprint. I would have to say the caondition of the coin is very good. How much would you say this coin is.
What is the misprint? Is it off-center? Is it blank?
I have a roman silver coin that dates back to 223 AD. Features on the coin is Servus Alexander. The conditon of the coin is good. You can still se the lines through the hair. Few little details.
In good about $12.00
I have a Geroge Washington Gold Dollar. THe Condition is great. The Dollar around the sides is upside down. Also George Washington is of center in the coin. Meaning he is closer to the bottom of the coin rather towards the top.
Geroge Washington Gold Dollar. THe Condition is great. The Dollar around the sides is upside down. Also George Washington is of center in the coin.
The edge being upside down is not an error and brings no extra value.
The off-center is only going to bring extra value if any of the letters are cut off. If the bottom letters are not visible then it is about $50.00 anything less would not bring any real value.
I'm not sure but I think I got a 1914/3 buffalo nickel (I know not canadian) and I think I have a few 1953 nickels, and I also have,
Austrailian two cent 1966 (no idea if theres a blunt or whatever)
Silver Canadian Quarter 1940
four 2001 canadian dimes, (the different one with the design on frong)
and.. I also have.. well some error coins. I have no idea how to discribe it. Maybe I'll post a video of someone elses (my camera is broken) and I'll show you what I mean. :)
I have a 1953 canadian nickel, and I've read some things about a strap and a far or close leaf? Mine has a strap, but I'm not sure on where to look for the leaf can you help me?
1914/3 buffalo nickel (I know not canadian)
In fine it is about $350.00
1953 nickels
In fine about $0.10
Austrailian two cent 1966 (no idea if theres a blunt or whatever)
The blunted claws make little difference but it just has to look sharp and thin or blunted. All are about $0.15.
Canadian Quarter 1940
About $2.00
2001 canadian dimes, (the different one with the design on frong)
Yeah that one is not listed but I have some also and from what I hear they are about $0.40 if perfect.
error coins. I have no idea how to discribe it. Maybe I'll post a video of someone elses (my camera is broken) and I'll show you what I mean. :)
That is fine just as long as the error is not blurry and you can post it free somewhere I'll gladly take a look.
1953 canadian nickel, and I've read some things about a strap and a far or close leaf? Mine has a strap, but I'm not sure on where to look for the leaf can you help me?
The strap or shoulder folds are two parallel lines that look like a a strap on her shoulder. The coins with the strap also have flared "I"s meaning all the letter I look like I not a straight |.
A near leaf maple means the maple leaf above the beavers head is almost touching the teeth around the rim.
A far leaf has gap that is big enough to fit another tooth-rim/denticle.
Without strap and near leaf is the most valuable.
With strap and far leaf is the second most valuable.
The rest are just above face value.
thx for the answer about 1953 leaf! another thing is, do u know what is average value of ner leaf and shoulder fold?
wow the leaf is far, but I also think that theres a worn strap. at the very bottom o th elbow where theres supposed to be a strap there is. there is like, two millimeters of them both. (does this count? Is this a 1,000?)
near leaf and shoulder fold
It is about $0.15
at the very bottom o th elbow where theres supposed to be a strap there is. there is like, two millimeters of them both. (does this count?
It is possible but without a picture I can't tell but in fine it is about $225.00 this is one of those coins that needs to be certified if you can get an expert to confirm that it is real.

I HAVE A VERY BROAD QUESTION: GENERALLY SPEAKING, IF THE CURRENCY OF A NATION HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED, DOES IT ADD TO THE COLLECTIBILITY VALUE? THANX MEV
IF THE CURRENCY OF A NATION HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED, DOES IT ADD TO THE COLLECTIBILITY VALUE?
Generally yes.
Specifically once the money is discontinued it goes up in value for the next few months over the next 10-20 years it stays low until the collectors figure out how much is still around.
Because some countries burn the old ones while others just refuse to accept them and so some are lost while others pile up.
Finally at the end unless very rare they only go up in value by a few bucks in perfect.

The one with a shoulder strap is only $1.50 in the same grade.

Hi, I have a 1867-1878 Canadian coin with no dollar value on it. John. A. Macdonald is on the back. House of common son the front
Also a 1939 Canadian silver dollar
1955 British Carribean Territories quarter with ship on front
Please tell me what they are worth and email me at
goaltender34_56@hotmail.com
Thanks
1867-1878 Canadian coin with no dollar value on it. John. A. Macdonald is on the back. House of common son the front
If over the House it says Ottawa Canada and underneath in French Chambre des Commune.
It is not a coin but a medallion there are 15 in all of every Prime Minister up to Trudeau(1968), they are zinc and worth about $3.50 each but they should be in a set encased in wood. They were made in the late 1960s.
1939 Canadian silver dollar
About $9.00
1955 British Carribean Territories quarter with ship on front
The ship is actually the back of the coin and it's about $0.35.
I Have 36 RCMP Centennial coins.
I know the large bust is worth considerably more, but I am not sure If I have large, small or some of each. They Vary in grades.
I would like to know how to tell the difference between a small bust and a large bust. 2 pictures to compare would be nice. TY!
36 RCMP Centennial coins
Your talking about the 1973 Canadian quarter.(I assume)
A picture comparison would may not be completely helpful, but I will post one on the front page of my blog. From a book because I don't own a large bust.
The small but has a more detailed bust and only 120 beads around the bust. These beads are slightly far from the rim.
The large bust is less detailed and has 132 beads around the bust. The beads are almost touching the rim.
Let post the info and picture, now.
http://coinedformoney.blogspot.com/2007/12/1973-canadian-quarter.html
The value is about $0.25 for the small bust and $70.00 for the large in very-fine.
Thanks for that. Pretty sure they are all small bust...
Found among her change, my sister found a 1867 Canadian Penny with a rabbit on one side, she says it's in good condition, what's it worth?
1867 Canadian Penny with a rabbit on one side
No such coin exist.
In 1967 a Canadian cent has a bird on the back and the date 1867-1967.
In 1967 a Canadian Nickel has a rabbit on the back and the date 1867-1967.
Both are common and only a few cents above face value.
Hey i have 3 1953 canadian nickles and i was just wondering what the value would be of these and one has a bigger ridge around it and looks different than the other 2
3 1953 canadian nickles
There are 4 varieties.
Without strap and near leaf is the most valuable about $200.00.
With strap and far leaf is the second most valuable about $150.00.
The rest are just above face value.
I was looking for a nickel in my pocket change and found a quarter that had the edge of a nickel, not rimmed, just smooth. Its Canadian, dated 1974. I have never seen one like it, was there a known minting error?
The edge does not appear to have been altered or ground down. Going to keep it regardless of value ... it looks like an overgrown nickel!
..the edge of a nickel, not rimmed, just smooth. Its Canadian, dated 1974.
No edge reeding is an error that can easily be faked or worn down.
That said it may be a broadstrike error but you need an expert to look at it. Find a coin dealer and ask if it's real.
Personally I've never seen this error and U.S. smooth edged quarters rarely turn out to be real or worth a premium.
Sorry.
I have a Canadian quarter. Instead of having the date on the front it has it on the back. The date is 1952-2002 .There is also a p near the date. I read some of the posts and it looks like you really know your stuff. I wanted to know if the quarter had any value what so ever. Thanks
The date is 1952-2002 .There is also a p near the date.
These are normal and there are two versions.
The one with the Caribou on the back is worth more in MS-60 (mint state) is about $0.50.
The other has a large maple leaf.
Only near perfect ones are worth anything but if touched they are just face value. The P stands for Plated
(multi-ply-plated-steel).
wow that was fast, thanks. Also I would like to know if you know what a dime that is dated 1949 is worth?
dime that is dated 1949
About $1.30 mostly for the silver value if close to mint state then about $1.75.
I just found this site searching for a the value of a dime. What is the value of a 1941 Canadian dime, and the value of an American dollar coin dated 1789-1797 with George Washington's face on it.
1941 Canadian dime, and the value of an American dollar coin dated 1789-1797 with George Washington's face
1941 Canada dime is about $1.30
US $1 coin 2007.
The date is on the edge.
About $1.00
Hi again, I was the one who asked you about the 1952-2002p quarter. I found the one with a maple leaf on it.How much is it worth?
Oh yea, it is in pretty good shape.
1952-2002p quarter. I found the one with a maple leaf on it.
This is the one that is worth a little less in mint state about $0.35.
For anything less then mint state again it is just face value.
Oh thanks, um I have a Canadian quarter dated 1604-2004 I'm not sure if it is the right date or not. But I wanted to know if it was worth anything more than 25 cents. Thanks, you've been a great help!!!!!!!
Canadian quarter dated 1604-2004
These are the First Settlement quarters and although the least made of 2004 they were overshadowed by the Poppy quarters.
First Settlements are worth about $0.50 in uncirculated mint state and only face value in lower grades.
Hello Sir,
I found a Canadian penny with a dove or some type of bird on it. I am not sure of the year but if you could please tell me the value I would be most thankful!
Canadian penny with a dove or some type of bird on it.
It is a dove. The penny is from 1967 and it's celebrates Canada's 100th anniversary.
It is a common coin worth about $0.03 in good, mostly for the copper value.
Hi, again I found 4 coins could you please tell me the value.
1 Canadian penny:1952-2002
1 Canadian penny: 1984
1 U.S.A penny: 1984
and 1 Canadian dime:1867-1967 it has a picture of some kind of fish.
Thanks!
1 Canadian penny:1952-2002
About $0.01
1 Canadian penny: 1984
About $0.01
1 U.S.A penny: 1984
About $0.01
1 Canadian dime:1867-1967 it has a picture of some kind of fish.
It's a mackerel there are two types a 80% silver and a 50% silver I can not tell the difference.
80% is about $1.10
50% is about $0.70
I'm assuming good circulated grade, which is low.
Thanks!
I recently found a 1953 quarter, and I was wondering if it had any value? It is in fine condition.
1953 quarter, and I was wondering if it had any value? It is in fine condition.
About $3.35 mostly for the silver content.
hi i have a 2000 canadian nickel with a p under it in mint condition i suppose ne idea how much its worth i heard that on a tv show its worth 1,500 dollars is it true?
the tv show im talking about is the canadian antiques roadshow i guess im not very sure but my uncle saw it on tv i need help :P the p is under the queens head
I hope I'm posting a question in the right section. I don't know anything about coins but my grandpa who recently died had some boxes with coins saved and I've been on the internet trying to figure out anything I can find on them for the past four months. Let's see, I have a zillion questions but let me start with these...
In a plastic baggie separated from all the rest he had a 1980 nickel with a hand written note taped to the nickel that says "defect in D Mint Mark" and another separated from the rest with a note taped to that one saying "1982P". I don't think that's a special year or anything so any clue why these two nickels were kept apart from all the other coins? Also, I think I have 2 pennies with errors in them. One is a 1913 Wheat back penny. On the front there's a circle shaped dip right where Lincoln's eyeball would be & the dip almost goes through the whole penny. When flipped over to the back, the place where it dips from the front has a raised circle bump covering part of the words "States" & "America". But here is the crazy part, the way it dips on the front and pushes through to the back is exactly duplicated on the backside of the penny. I mean there is another dip exactly like the one on the front of the penny, only this dip is on the back covering the letter N on the word "Cent". The round dips look the same but reversed on each side and are raised on the other side of the dips. I hope I explained this ok. The other one I had a question about was a 1980 penny that has a dark raised area behind Lincoln's head that looks like an extra coating of copper, it's just a bit darker than the rest of the penny & on the reverse side where it is raised from the front, the back has a slight dip like a very thin layer is missing from the exact same place the raised part is on the front. That's all I will ask for now. I hope it wasn't too much trouble. I seriously have a ton more questions. I will check back soon.
Thanks, Alison in California
2000 canadian nickel with a p under it in mint condition
It is only worth about $1.50.
In a higher mint state (MS-65) it may go for about $15.00.
4,899,000 were made so they are common.
The one that that showed talked about was the 2000P quarter.
It was a testing sample and 3-5 were accidentally released. They are very rare and yes in mint state it's $1,500 while in MS-64 it sold in auction for $7,500.
1980 nickel with a hand written note taped to the nickel that says "defect in D Mint Mark" and another separated from the rest with a note taped to that one saying "1982P".
Defects are common but not worth much and the 1982P was hard to find in high grades so if collectors saw a good one they put it aside. Both coin type may be around $2.00 if they can be verified.
One is a 1913 Wheat back penny. On the front there's a circle shaped dip
Sounds like damage as if it was machine punched. No value.
1980 penny that has a dark raised area behind Lincoln's head
Again this sounds like damage but if it's a stock defect it still bring little to no extra value.
If there is a coin shop around your area you may want to ask there but I believe they were just odd coins that could not found in books, occasionally collectors out them aside in hopes they might be true errors.

Generally coins should never be cleaned.
You mentionned that you didn't find any 50¢ canadian coins in your pocket change... and you probably won't ever find any, becaue fifty cents aren't circulating coins, they are only available in Collector's Sets...
Maybe many years ago they were available but I wasn't born then, and I'm 32...
I'm a Canadian collector from Quebec Province. Have quite a big collection that was given to my from my grand-father who got it from his own father... so it's a family heritage.
Very nice pre-1959 fifty are always worth a premium.
There is always hope to find one in my change but it is slim.

Everyone should have a special coin box or jar. I assumed a good (G-4) or circulated condition. Of course a better condition raise the value but not by much for most of yours coins.
Canada:
1940 5 cents about $0.20

2001 1 cent about $0.01
Britain:

1990 5 gulden about $0.40
For Netherlands coins anything before 1970 generally is worth more after 1970 the price drops to less then face value.
Sweden:
2000 1 krona about $0.10
2003 50 öre about $0.05
2004 50 öre about $0.05

Spain:
1982 10 pesetas??? no such coin because they started the 10 peseta in 1983
Gibraltar:
2004 10 pence about $0.15
Thank you very much. I´ll take another look at that 10 pesetas coin. That´s a coin that´s in a very bad shape so I probably misread the year.
Thanks again!
Hey, me again. Sorry to bother you again.
The 10 pesetas coin I mentioned earlier really does say 1982.
In fact, it says 'Cien pesetas', with 'cien' and 'pesetas' divided by the coat of arms of Spain, on one side and on the other side is the head of king Juan Carlos the first, with the words 'juan carlos I rey de espana' around it and then there it is, 1982.
Maybe they already made 10 pesetas coins in 1982 but introduced them in 1983, like you can also find euros that have '1999' on it while they were introduced in 2002. I don't know, you're the coins expert here, but I guess it's a possibility...
Last time I'm going to bother you, but now I need to apologize and say I was wrong.
Or that I need to brush up on my Spanish.
Cien is of course 100, not 10. I forgot, because the dutch word for 10 is 'tien' and 'cien' looks so much like it. But then again, I should've looked at the french 'cent' and the latin 'centum' and then I'd have realised it was 100. My mistake! Sorry...
Cien is of course 100, not 10.
Cien does indeed mean one hundred , yo hablo Español. No problem with the mix-up it happens.
So 100 Pesetas form 1982 is about $0.75
do 2002 & 1967 regular canadian pennies exist? i havent found any yet, and am hoping to know if my collection is only missing unexisting pennies.help!
2002 & 1967 regular canadian pennies exist?
1967 was a commemorative year and the circulating issue has the year 1867-1967 with a bird. I have found a bunch in my change so there out there.
The same is true for 2002 it's dated 1952-2002. There are two varieties one with a P on the front and one without.
1967 does not have the maple leaf reverse.
2002 does have the maple leaf but the date is on the front.
I found a 1904 Republique Francaise 25 centimes coin, does this hold any value?

Hi...I know you have posted on this one before but I have a 1944 Canadian V Nickle. I am not sure if it is steel chrome or tombac. I am not sure how to tell but I know the rare tombac ones are worth a fortune. It appears to have a brassy wear/look under the shiny blue grey. What do you think?

Only one tombac 1944 nickel was ever found the rest were melted.
If yours sticks to a magnet it is the steel version. The edge is left unplated and that is pure steel.
On error variety lacked chromium and is just gray in color it is worth more.
The blue-gray color is normal when chromium was added. Yours looks blue so it's the normal coin.

Well as for exchange rate it is about $0.23 US Dollars.
Silver value is about $1.90 US Dollars.
In collectors value assuming it is in very-good condition it's about $3.00.
Silver value is the most important because it changes with the economy and it is 80% silver.
hello have 1962 and 58 canadian nickel with 12 sides to both and the young elizabeth please help me to find a price ,ty
canadian nickel
1962 about $0.05
1958 about $0.10
Hey not sure if its worth anything but iv never seen one its a 1988 penny but its a gold color i looked online about special pennies that were also gold but they said the oz that was put in this doesn't Not sure what it could be its in pretty good condition got it from a timmmies?
Andy idea
1988 penny but its a gold color
It is done by outside companies and has no numismatic value. What ever gold is on the coin is too small to bring any other value.
They sell for $2.95 on QVC.
Hi, I have a 1993 quarter with no serated edges and a 1968 nikel with a queen that has no shoulder strap. And a nikel with no leafs.
I vaguely remember some news story about a certain 1969 Canadian dime that was worth lots of money - it think it might have been something to do with the size of the date.
Is this true? What are the features of this dime that make it valuable?
1993 quarter with no serated edges
Sounds like damage, no extra value.
1968 nikel with a queen that has no shoulder strap
About $0.05

Yes the large date variety is worth about $10,000.00 in very-fine graded.
Only 20 were known to exist.
The best way I can describe it is that in the small date the curve from the 9 and 6 goes only half way.
In the large date the curve on the 9 and 6 goes around and makes a half-circle.
Just look at the 9 and 6 from before 1968 and that is the large date.
After 1970 it was all small date.
This was a transitional coin which is why it's valuable.
I have a millennium coin from 1999, wich doesn't match with the set I found online. It is quater size but doesn't say 25 cents. One side it has a large maple leaf with several smaller ones arching the top. The opposite side is a repeated pattern or small maple leafs with an m under each and 1999 in the centre.
I've never seen one before and am quite curious about it.
Thanks

This is a Souvenir Medallion with an official value of 25 cents. This one commemorates the Royal Canadian Mint and was sold in sets along with special nickels, I think they're 0.925 silver. It was the third quarter not to have a value stamped on it.
They average about $10.00
All canadian unless stated otherwise:
A complete set of 10 millennium quarters still in case.
A 1982 nickle with a 10 on the front in the middle of some swirls.
A 1944 cent with "GeorgIVS" on the back
A US cent 1959 and 1958 with a whole in it,
A US cent 1944.
Thanks in advance!

1936 Canadian cent is about $0.15.
The values come from books I own, trend magazines, auctions and eBay sales. I use to visit coin shops but no longer so I can only see what they offer by going to coin forums where other collectors share values.
Your other coin is 10 cents from the Cayman Islands it is also about $0.15.
Thank you man!
Really helped, Im sad that my coins are not worth more (I just dumped out a bottle of change that weighed about 40lbs. and the coins in it hadn't been touched since 1981) but I am glad to know what they are worth.
Do you have any recommendations for Canadian coins that I should save? Like loonies and toonies? Will my 1936 penny be worth any more some day? My Millennium quarters? SHould I sell my Alberta centennial coin from 2005 that is worth (i think) about $35 now, or will it go up?
Please give some advice!
For Canadian coins because of there high quality will always go up in value. Just very slow. As more people have them graded the coins that are not graded will stay the same.
Most coins before 1969 are worth saving because of the metal content. Some nice varieties for 1955, 1954 exist.
The 1991 quarter also has a small premium. Of course all the special collectors coin have a premium but there are so many that it's recommended if you want to collect to get the Charlton Canadian Coin book.
I have plastic baggies of 1960's nickles, a baggie of 1968 and a larger baggie of 1969 quarters, a baggie of provincial quarters, and a baggie of 1960's dimes, both Canadian and U.S. I also have a bag of quarters with Mounties on them. Are any of these treasures worth anything more than their face value?

Most of the U.S. coins are just face value. Quarters before 1965 are silver and worth $1.70.
For Canada the 1968 quarters are about $0.90 each and the 1969 are just face value.
Except for varieties in 1964 and 1965 the nickels are just face.
Dimes average $0.56.
I have a new one for you:

It doesn't have any country on it and stuff, just says "new penny".
Also, how much is a canadian penny from 2000 in perfect condition worth?
Actually, I just did a google image search on "wheat pennies", it turns out that I have a few.
I actually mentioned them in a previous post of mine, but didn't know they were wheat.
I have one from:
1956,
1944,
1958 (but has a hole drilled in it lol)
and 1953 (but also has same kind of hole in top).

hi thanks for the reply so fast...
- the 1998 quarter i believe is from an uncirculated set and is made of silver, the edge is not smooth like normal quarters
- the dime has a raised mark from the last A in CANADA down thru the 6 in 2006
- just found a new 2008 loonie with a raised dot above the loons head the dot is about the size of one of the zeros
i'll try to upload pics
thanks
