Stars Came Out Tonight

Do you have currency and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

I recently got this fresh super crisp star note from my change. This is the nicest looking star note I ever got and made sure not to fold or bend before I got it home.

Now when I looked it up in the book I see it is listed in sheets only, this is wrong. The Uncut Sheet sold by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) was only for the C-A block. Still this bill is one of the scarcer of the 2003-A $1.00 notes.

This is the second 2003A $1 star note that I found but this one is much more special in grade and rarity.

Here's the stats...
Type/Country: 1 Dollar/United States
Year: 2003A
Date Printed: July 2007
Printings: 320,000
Run: 2nd from C03200001* - C03520000*
Value: $30.00 in CH-CU(choice-uncirculated)

Do you have a star note and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

294 dollars worth, for Comments/Questions click here.:

How about a brand new BEP Wrapped pack of $1 star notes G09806401* - G09806500* 4th Run. How much would each star cost compared to the entire pack selling at once?

With so many people selling these, the pack as a whole does not bring anything above selling each one.

What people want are graded bills.

As for value I would need to no the year/series.

Man said...

I meant know not no.

Andrew said...

Oh i'm Sorry, It's a 2003 Chicago Series. I believe the book value is $35 per note. Would getting them graded add more value? Also would selling the entire pack add more value as well?

new BEP Wrapped pack of $1 star notes G09806401* - G09806500*...2003

Selling these as a pack would get about $200.00 unfortunately the market is flooded with these BEP packs.

Would it be worth it to spend a couple of hundred to grade these with the hope you can triple the value?
Currently I say no, but I am kind of stingy now.

The current book value is based on graded examples and is a bit overvalued.

These are Legal Tender Notes or United States notes that were red because it meant they were the obligation of the United States.
Current green seals are issued through banks not the entire country.

Stars meant that they are replacements because normal bills were damaged during printing.

I found a $100 Bill series 2001 ce00068845 with a star. "Federal Reserve Note" looks like the ink was off on the bottom part of the letters. I was told to not get rid of this bill. Truth or Fiction? I was informed it is a reprint or something? Huh?

The minor Ink Smear error does not add value.
The star means it is a replacement note for a regular run. They are usually made in much lower numbers so they have a premium.

It's about $110.00

Too much to say the wiki article covers the basics.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money

That said money is payment for goods and services and is a promise that it will continued to be exchanged.

Value is whether it is gold coins or paper money is based on faith and opinion. Things are only valuable because we say it is. There is a part where you can trade money for real things like food so the more you have the more secure you are and we place value on that.
