2001-P Sacagawea Dollar

Walked by a vending machine when it made a funny noise and spit out this coin and another. Seeing how much money vending machines have taken from over the years it is only fair that I kept this one.

The coin is not a keeper since I have better ones. The brown tone is kind of cool like button from a pair of old jeans. The coin is twelve years old and looks fifty. I still can see how dollar coin may work but these metals need to be changed.

It is rare to find free money these days but I have been able to find my fair share. Keeping an ear out is as good as keeping an eye out.

Here's the stats...
Type/Country: 1 Dollar / United States
Year: 2001P
Mintage: 62,468,000
Metal: Core: 100% Copper, Clad Layer: 88.5% Copper, 6% Zinc, 3.5% Manganese, 2% Nickel
Value: F-12 about $1.00

Do you have any dollar coin and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you

11 dollars worth, for Comments/Questions click here.:

Some were made with a special finish and some had bold feathers and they were minted at about 5,000 each.

Those are from 2000 and carry a special value.

I've got so much old money, how in the world do you find someone to buy them. I do no that just because its old don't mean that it's worth anything. I did go to a antique shop and took some of it with me and the guy snatched a few of the silver coins and pennies from me I wished I haven't done that because I don't no what he got but he did. Thank you for the answer you did give me.

Get the The Official 2014 Red Book - Guide to U.S. Coin Values any year from 2010 to 2014 should work well. Go to the library and borrow it for free.

Or check out PCGS price guide.

Make a list of your coins and the lowest value listed since grades are likely low.

Then sell anything $100 or more to local coin dealers and everything else try eBay.
