1991 Peru 50 Centimos

Have a coin from Peru and want to know its value? Leave a comment

First of the fifty céntimos after the reformation. If you notice a coin/currency trend among Central and South American countries you are correct. They often change governments and with it change their entire monetary systems. The instability does not make the coins rare mainly because the lack of proper accounting. They tend to flood the country with these new coins and notes but the exact numbers may never be known.

BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERU 1991
50 CENTIMOS
The reverse  has some braille but I am not sure what it says. Also the mint mark of the Lima mint is a combination of the letters LIMA. It is a very simple but cool way to make an original mark.

Here's the stats...
Type/Country: 50 Centimos / Peru
Year: 1991
Mintage: Unknown
Metal: Copper-Nickel
Value: $0.20 in Fine (currency exchange is at $0.19)
