Even I'm Stumped

Do you have a coin/bill and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

I recently bought one of those foreign coin lots where you get a pound of coins for ten bucks. I was able to identify all but one coin. Here it is.

0012

I figured it wasn't a true coin because both side are identical and it looks cheap. By cheap I mean the field is not smooth and the design isn't sharp.

I went through all my books, other websites and even posted in coin forums. All the information I got is that it is Japanese and the Japanese characters spell Western. Some believe it is a pachinko token.

In pachinko parlors people play these semi-gambling machines and win balls then use those to get token at slot machines or to trade for prizes.

As for value I don't know anyone who collects pachinko tokens. Also I still don't know if this a gaming token or something else. If I find out more I'll let you know.

If you have knowledge of this coin/token/medal please let me know.

MAN: We all know about the 1955 Franklin Half "Bugs Bunny". How scarce and what is the value of a 1960 Franklin "Bugs Bunny"?

Man said...

USA Bicentennial 1776-1976 gold medal, have eagle on one side and queen and stars

This is some type of foreign medal but it is probably worth it's weight in gold.
Sorry, but many have been made since 1976 and without any image it's hard to say.

1960 Franklin "Bugs Bunny"

This is a Die Clash error and while uncommon it is not that popular.

If graded MS-63 it's about $45.00 but the auction and private forum sales have a wide range, it depends on the buyer.

I have two one dollar bills that are green on one side and yellow on the other.
First: Series 1963 A Serial # C16681311D Not in great condition. Intact but wrinkled.
Second: Series 1969 Serial # E53862620A Same condition. Any idea as to value? Also, how did this happen? Is it a printing flaw or could something have happened to turn the ink this way? Thanks!

On the other side it has the number 2 in the centerof two different types of flowers and the word FRANCS below it also with the words LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE with a date of 1979 on it. it is round, but the enter egdes are octogon shape on both side. I have three star notes and I'm not sure if they are worth holding onto, selling or just spending. Please let me know what you think.

$5.00 2003 FG00227416*
$10.00 2004 GL08075737*
$100.00 1996 AG00960129*

The hundred is in the best condition only one fold but the ink is not clean or crisp, very blotchy like they printed using too much ink, it even shows thru to the other side a little.

Man said...

$5.00 2003-A FG00227416* about $15.00
$10.00 2004-A GL08075737* about $12.00
$100.00 1996 AG00960129* about $110.00

The $5.00 has the lowest printing and it may gain more value over time but the rest are common and hard to sell.

presidents 5 dollar v 6487 note dated june 14 1852 i found it in the wall of my aunts house wen i was helping remodel about 10 yrs ago it has no back and is in very good shape
This one is questionable if there is no back it is a replica.
If it does have a back and made of a brownish type paper it is a bank issued note about $100.00.

5 cent paper note with president washingtons face on it i believe the date is 1803 it also has no back and is taped together it also has harden county and mount victory on it top and bottom
It should be 1863 and should also have a back currency should have a back unless it is a fake souvenir which is what I suspect this is.

There is a good chance the 50s paper gave these pieces away as an anniversary or promotion.

The are pre-civil war era notes and generally have little value but are also replicated a lot in small towns because of historical sentiments.

May 1861 CSA 1000 dollar 12 month bearer bond printed only on one side, not really clear images, the faces of the presidents are blurry.
