$20 Dollar Bill Error?

Do you have note or currency and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

Hello

I was wanting to find out if you would be able to help me
I have 8 consecutive 20 dollar bills without the little 20 printed on the back of any of them
I have enclosed a picture of the front of one and the back of another
would you be able to tell me what they are worth
any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank You
Belinda

Error 20'S

Wow she linked pictures and everything.
And if you thought that would simplify it you were wrong.

This was beyond my knowledge, beyond my Web search, even beyond my books. So I looked into my network of collectors who also never saw this error.

The small yellow "20"s on the back is an anti-copying security feature,
--Check for the nylon thread on the front to the left of the left side-dark seal.
--Check for the watermark of Jackson's head on the front to the right of the right-sided green seal.
--Hold the bill in front of a light to see the hidden features.

If they are not there then you have counterfeit bills. Which also has value.

If they are there then the bills are real and according to my source each bill is worth $200.00 for a total of $1,600.00. (This is only an educated guess since yours are the first reported.)

Thanks for the visit Belinda and sorry for the long delay but it is a new bill and a strange error.

If I have more updates or find them on eBay I'll post a link but I'd try to sell half of them to a local dealer before more are found.

Here is a cool error that sold on eBay for $10,100 in May 2003 and now sold at $25,300.
It's called the "banana note" and has a Del Monte sticker that fell on it midway during printing and was not caught and destroyed.

Do you have note or currency and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

I do not understand, if you can post a clear picture somewhere and drop a ink here that may help.

That said it may be a minor Ink Smear error, no extra value.

I handle lots of money, and I've never noticed this before...just wondering what could cause it...and if per chance I could've found something that's not just interesting to me. Thanks. Also, I was browsing your blog and saw a lot of talk about star bills...I never noticed this before, but I did find that I have a 20, well circulated, from 2004 with a star. serial # ee 05421895. I saw that 2004 was a common year for star bills, so I was just wondering if it would have any worth at all (above the $20). Thanks!

If it is what can I do to get my money back if I know the company that gave it to me and they won't give me a new $20?

I have a bill that after reading your post I don't think it is worth anything but I thought to check anyway if you have the time.

It is a 2004 Series A 20 dollar
bill. The front was miss aligned is right near the top of the note. There is a very small line that before the edge the back sadly also is printed a little higher up then it should be. Basically the bill is the right dimensions but either printed wrong or the just cut it wrong. Thanks for any information.

Hi man, just found your site! I work retail and took in a $5 with the serial number on the left hand side in that rich green and the seal as well as the serial number in turquoise. I marked the bill with the counterfeit marker and it is real, it has the strip and everything, not sure how to post pics on here but I would like to email it to you if you want to have a look. Nobody believes me! I've been calling around until I found your site. I have to admit the bill is pretty beat up, but I've never seen anything like it. Thanks for your help. Oh the bill was 2006 series thanks

Not an error.
This is caused by bleach or sunlight and is common. No extra value.

That fact the bill is "beat up" means it probably went through the laundry.

I have a 2004 $20 bill that has an asterisk after the EC serial numbers appearing on the front upper left and lower right hand side of the bill. It also has a "G" with and asterisk immediately below the "20" on the front upper right hand side (just above the wording " The United States of America". Finally, there is an "C3" immediately under the serial number on the upper left hand side of the front of the bill. What can you tell me about this bill?

I'm going to a rare error expert in a week to get this looked at. I also found a 20$ bill that looks like it has black grease on it but really its making imprints almost like a die crack on a coin. I also have a dollar that has orange wings on it when u hold it to black light.

I have a series 2001 $20 bill, number CL67035147D. The back has a 5/16" ink strip at the top and the front has the same ink strip only 3/16" wide at the top. It definitely looks like it happened at the mint and the bill is wrinkle free. Any chance it's value is greater that $20?

thank you,

This sounds more like damage.
But assuming a true Ink Smear error it is too minor to add any value.

10% coverage more Ink Smear over the note has values.

PCGS also has a forum where collectors buy from each other, check out that whole site and take good pictures because your description is not enough.

If just the watermark seems to be misaligned then it is not a collectible error.

It may be a cutting error of the blank sheets but not significant enough to have value. Still if you can afford to keep it aside for possible future error collectors but no big loss if you use it.

It is a minor Faulty Alignment or Cutting Error, it does not have any added value.

Only has extra value if a piece of another note is coming into the white space. Like 2 notes on one paper.
