P is for Magnetic. Okay maybe not. It is definitely not for Philadelphia instead it is for Plated-steel. While this is my 433rd Canada Cent it is only my 6th steel cent. I assume these show up less because they were made in lower amounts and they get rejected more in American machines. All that leads to less circulation.
I like that the reverse is blank. I know some people get confused by this but as a commemorative coin it is very low key.
Wondering now in 2012 for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee will they do something special. Oh wait they just printed their last cent a while ago. I guess she is not getting any Canada cent love.
Here's the stats...
Type/Country: 1 Cent / CanadaYear: 2002-P
Mintage: 114,212,000
Metal: 94.0% Steel, 4.5% Copper, and 1.5% Nickel
Value: $0.01 in F

Thought of you today :)
I received a 1954 nickel today in my change. I'd say it is in fair shape. A few light scratches, facial features still well defined, letters worn down closer to the edge...
Would you humor me with the value?

About $0.10 it may not be valuable but at least you noticed it.
I bought a commemorative coin today. It says on one side 25th anniversary 1964 around a circle (im pretty sure it was made 25 years after '64). Inside the circle it's says Penn above some sort of vase and Ohio below the vase. The other side has an eagle and says Frdereal brand Enterprises, Inc. It is in unc and is sterling silver. Do you have any ideas if what it's worth?

This is from 1964.
The coin club was founded in 1939 and by 1968 they kind of disappeared. They were famous among numismatics for a while.
That said they made thousands of tokens and medals, all are just metal value. Weigh it and calculate is all I can say.
Hmmmm Interesting. It looks very new for being that old. It is about the same size as a quarter ( it's diameter is a little bit bigger) so I'll assume the value is around that price range. Thanks for the info!

If it is sterling silver then it should be worth it's weight in silver.
Medals and tokens do not circulate so the stay high grade for longer.
Yes, I always enjoy noticing coins that are older than most that I come across. I found a 1965 quarter, but I believe I remember that it was only through 1964 that silver was used...so, yeah.

Correct, those 1964 or older dimes and quarter are getting tougher to find. Still anything is possible.
I have a 1984 Canadian penny. There seems to be a blank (extra) space between the "8" & the "4" the latter of which touches or almost touches the stem of the maple leaf. Is this normal? I cannot send a picture right now, but can you please answer what you think without one?

It sounds common, no extra value.
