2006 $1 Star Note K-*

Do you have star note and want to know its value? Leave a comment

See what happens when you buy a pack of Entenmann's Frosted Raspberry Donuts at the supermarket. First you get some slightly moist less than par donuts. Second you get a star note in your change because you chose to use cash. Although next time I will go back to there Cinnamon Crunch Loaf.

Back to the note before this tuns into a foodie's blog.

Halfway through March and my finds are falling behind recent years. Usually I would have well over a dozen interesting finds but I am not even up to ten. Again this was predictable since my use of cash has reached Swedish levels. This note was a nice find since I have been making an extra effort to look for odd notes. I mean might as well triple check my money since I hardly use it.

Here's the stats for this bill...
Type/Federal Bank: $1 Star Note Fort Worth / Dallas
Year: 2006
Printings: 3,200,000
Printed: January 2010
Run: 1st and only from K00000001* - K03200000*
Value: $2.50 VF(this one is less)

Do you have currency and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

179 dollars worth, for Comments/Questions click here.:

It's been a while since I have gotten a star note.

2012 started strong for me, but I have been finding less and less finds lately. It'll probably pick up, especially when it's 80 degrees in March!

Assuming a high mint state,
Blank about $4.00
D about $4.00
S about $18.00

Lower than mint state just divide by 4.

Hi Man,

I have found a 100 dollar bill star note from 1934 that doesn't say "In God we Trust" on it. It has a serial number starting with 000. I am curious about the value. Thanks in Advance!

Not enough information I would need the full serial number and letter.

That said on average about $200.00

I have two one-dollar series 2006 Federal Reserve Bank notes of St Louis MO, with consecutive series numbers. These notes have the reverses impression of a Lincoln five-dollar bill on the reverse, minus the seals, serial numbers, signatures and such. The notes are in UNC condition. It would be of great help if you could let me know the value. Please find the link to the picture below

The last known offset involve different denomination was a $1 and $5 from 1981. I never saw the auction but it would be several thousands.

Many are faked but the few found are so rare I think a new one would be at least $3,000 possibly much more just for one. It has to be verified.

This is a very rare error.

Thank you for clarifying. How can I verify the same? Is there a certifying agency?

Man said...

PCGS.com you can get it graded there for a fee.

They also have a Certified Dealers list and there maybe one in your area that can see it in hand and help.

I don't know much about bills...but I have one that is printed low on the front. It has a larger space at the top and barely any on the bottom. The back has slightly more space on top then the bottom. When I went to see if it had any value I saw the comments about star dollars and realized this was a stared bill. Any guess what kind of value? it is from 2003.

A real GREENBACK

Here is a $1.00 bill I received recently. The back has an overall greenish tint. I scanned it next to normal bill. I’ve seen this on other bills in the past. Is this a mistake? Or has something happened to the bill to cause this?

Here is a $1.00 bill I received recently. The back has an overall greenish tint.

The link worked great and the picture is clear.

That said this is common, greenish tint can happen if the bill was washed or exposed to water or solvent at any point.

It has no extra value.

joseph blowdowski said...

Thanks, I was just wondering how it happened. I have some other interesting bills I will try to find and post for your opinion. Thanks again very interesting site!

Man said...

I was just wondering how it happened.

If it is crisp from a bank roll it probably happened during printing. A solvent is used to clean the printing machines and when the next bills get printed some of the solvent gets on them.

Only if the Ink Smear is thick and alters the design will it have value.

Also it could have been done after printing, if it fell in water or went through the laundry.

All these bills are circulated- 2006 1$ K series Serial number K 00105461 star. 2009 1$ D 24610179 B the nine in the top serial # is lower then all the numbers in the bottom serial # which are all in line. the top serial # is all in line exceept for the last 9 is lower. Also was wondering if bills with the same letter on each side of the serial number are worth anything and if bills missing FW are worth anything and worth keeping? I also have a 1995 B 1$ B 94838285 E missing FW and it also has a red square and in square it has a S 10 its condition is rough but everything is still readable. It also has a robert E rubin signature. Also a 2003 series but under the 2003 their is a A with john w. snow sig. Also if the bill is a B bill but in the serial number it start with a different letter is that a bill worth value. I collect different coin and just started on bills and the way i collect i like to know the value at the time and keep up on their value.

As for high serial numbers these are not really collectible but if you like them it is up to you.

How about this star note with a matching 2 dollar bill that has its top left reserve number printed partially over the position number?

Picture is clear and nice.

The Minor Misaligned Overprint error it should be about $15.00 and the matching serial numbers are not perfect, meaning the letters F-A, L-* are not matching so I would not add extra value for that. Around $20.00 for the set seems fair.

Not a true radar note so it is common with no extra value.

That said I've seen similar notes on sale on eBay.

Man said...

How about this radar note...

A Minor Misaligned Overprint error, looks to be CU with the radar about $40.00. The shift is very minor.

Still at $25 it is fair as it would need to be graded to get the full value.

About $50.00 possibly more since the repeat is is nicer than most.

No problem with the assist but Fancy notes buyer tend to a bit more wild than my conservative estimates. Certain buyers go crazy and are willing to overspend for these, which is good if you are selling. The serious collectors tend to get annoyed with fancy notes.

Not sure what you mean.

That said all buffalo nickels have extra value even without a readable date.

Most are $2.00 in low grade, many are worth hundreds in higher grades.

They do from 1913-1938.

What you are describing are modern American Bison nickels.

How much do you think these $20 and $10 star radar notes are worth?

$20 and $10 star radar notes

$20 about $35.00

$10 about $40.00

the $20 is in poor shape but both would note be worth grading.

Okay well how about this radar star $1 dollar bill? I know it's CU, but still seems a bit much for just a $1 dollar bill, so it just makes me wonder if $10 and $20 star radars could actually sell for more than your estimate even though they are circulated.

About $40.00 there is some ugly staining.

so it just makes me wonder if $10 and $20 star radars could actually sell for more than your estimate even though they are circulated.
-Yes they would, I give a low average value. People tend to overpay for radar and star notes, but for verified collectors and coin shops they tend not to even buy notes like these.

If they do buy it has to be certified and at least MS-64 which is a good mint state condition. Every fold is permanent and lowers value.

Below is a good link for one of the better radar notes seller/buyer but be aware price are twice as high and condition is very good..

About $5.00 each, this is an even a smaller market of people who want these.

Again true collectors have no use for these.

Hi, it's been a while, but my dad has an interesting 2-dollar bill with a low serial number that I'm wondering about. It's circulated (well, wrinkled), and has the serial # A05341240A. Is it worth more than face value? Thanks!

That is not a low serial number.
Low is 000000999 or less.

Assuming the bill is 1976 or newer it just has face value.

Unknown said...

Okay, thanks anyway.
