1999 $1 Bill, F-N

Have a 1999 dollar bill and want to know its value?

The 1999 series had some long runs but they were not all in one place. They kept flipping the Atlanta notes from D.C. to Fort Worth. That resulted in some low runs for certain serial numbers.

The lowest runs were for:
  • One run F89600001R  -  F96000000R in D.C.
  • One run F00000001M  -  F06400000M in Fort Worth
  • Two runs F00000001L  -  F12800000L in D.C.
That small changeover is enough to excite currency collectors. These are a few example of non-star notes that have a premium. About $5-$25 in crisp-uncirculated compared to face value to $2.00 for other notes of the same series and grade.

Unfortunately since these notes are so specific I cannot remember them all the time. I generally know Atlanta notes need to put aside but I often forget to check. At some point I have to finish that app I started in my head that will checkout serial numbers or get a download of the currency books to my phone but until then I can only try. I do try to put aside all my new change and not spend it before I get home and check the rarity.

Here's the stats for this bill...
Type/Federal Bank: $1 Note-Fort Worth / Atlanta
Year: 1999
Printings: 1,944,000,000
Printed: August 2001
Run: 8th from 8-15 from F44800001N - F51200000N
Value: $1.50 in CU

Do you have currency and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

I found a 1993 dollar bill, serial C14408131A, in AU condition and was wondering what it could be worth?
Also, I've found quite a few Arizona quarters with the extra cactus (smaller version) and was wondering what would be a far price if I wanted to sell the extras.
Lastly, I'm not exactly sure what year but between 1957 and 1969, it is a 500 yen bill from Japan. Difficult to say what condition but I would guess VG or Fine.

Thanks very much for your help, I really enjoy your blog!

--About $3.00 it had a medium printing and will likely go up in value over the next few years.

Arizona quarters with the extra cactus (smaller version)
--About $1.50

I think they are no longer redeemable but if they were it would be about $5.00.

Awesome thanks very much for the information.
I notice that you have a lot of knowledge about the amount of runs for U.S. bills, can you tell me if there's any special serial to look for in the 2009 series for $1?

It is still early but except for the star notes only F89600001B or later may have extra value.

Ok, i don't normally collect paper money but today i came across a Star* note. It is a tad wrinkled w/ a fold in the middle but not flimsy. The serial # is C 02499154* 2003 A. Very low number, not sure what it is worth but that is not too important...

I was just wondering what you can tell me about it, anything at all?

p.s. im a cashier and that is 90% off how i come across most of my finds. 10% through my pocket change.

Depends on serial number but average is $20.00.

Assuming a $1 Bill about $2.00.
