2009 Late Arrivals

Do you have a dime and want to know its value? Leave a comment

As some may know 2009 was a low coin production year. That meant that finding some coins has been difficult, dimes and nickels in particular. While even lower minted quarters have been popping up without much looking.

Then suddenly last week three 2009 dimes just showed up in my change.

2009-P Dime

2009-P Northern Mariana Islands Quarter

The Denver dimes actually had a lower circulation but Denver coins are always more of a hassle to find in the east coast.  Now the quarter is actually the lowest minted quarter in years but it is one of six designs which tends to lower the productions anyway.

People were hoarding 2009 dimes and nickels  because of  low mintage. But these quarters and certain dollar coins had a lower mintage and they were not so highly publicized.

Here's the stats...
Type/Country: 10 Cents / United States
Year: 2009 P
Mintage: 96,500,000
Metal: 91.67% Copper, 8.33% Nickel
Value: $0.10

Type/Country: 25 Cents-Northern Mariana Islands / United States
Year: 2009 P
Mintage: 35,200,000
Metal: 91.67% Copper 8.33% Nickel
Value: $0.25 in F-12

Not counting the half dollars, since they are not officially circulating, the lowest minted coin for 2009 was the Native American Dollar at 33,880,000. The Northern Mariana Islands quarter is the second lowest.

Do you have a quarter and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

44 dollars worth, for Comments/Questions click here.:

Huh, I still have not found a US 2009 dime or nickel in my change.

I don't work retail though, so that reduces the change I see.

Someday I will find one.

I also don't work retail so I'm dependent on change I receive. It usually takes 6 months after a release to get the coin but these 2009 coins are working there way out these past weeks.

I'm sure by July most people will see them.

I have a 1965 dime that has only a faint shadow on the tails side, otherwise almost completely blank on that side. Its not silver (unfortunately) but is it still worth anything?

It sounds like a struck through grease error or late die strike. Either way it has no extra value.

About $35.00 in very-fine.

misprinted $2 bill from 1976. There is no margin on the right side on the front.
Unless you see a piece of another bill it has no extra value.

I have a Series 1988 $5.00 bill with the back side top and left side cut off..no margins.. like it went in the printer wrong. I'd like to send you a photo to see if it is worth keeping or worth more than that! How do I send the photo to you? Jeanp@centurytel.net

I have a 2004 $20 that has an A after the "Series 2004". I'm sure it's of no value, but I was only curious as to the purpose of the A. I had a stack of $20 and none of the others had it on there, so what does it mean?

In 2004 the gov't redesigned the $20 bill then in December of 2004 the U.S. Treasurer changed so it was changed on the bill, to note this change the letter "A" was added.

It has no extra value.

I like it, but I haven't seen one in hand.

The simple design is nice.

huh. You haven't seen one yet? I've had dozens of them come by me.
Hey Man,
What are the value of these coins?:
1924 Peace Dollar uncirculated
1934 1 dollar Funny Back in Fine condition
1858 Seated Liberty in Good Condition has some scratches.
1858 Flying Eagle Cent
1921 S Morgan Dollar.
Thanks a lot.

I haven't been doing much coin hunting these past few weeks.

1924 Peace Dollar uncirculated about $25.00
1934 1 dollar Funny Back in Fine condition about $35.00

1858 Seated Liberty in Good Condition has some scratches
What denomination?

1858 Flying Eagle Cent about $28.00
1921 S Morgan Dollar about $20.00

Rudy said...

The seated liberty has no denomination.

Man said...

seated liberty has no denomination

Then it is not a real coin.

Maybe it was worn off, what size is it? Dime? Quarter? Dollar?

Rudy said...

Yeah, most likely it is worn off. Where exactly is the mint mark located? Because I've only been provided with the obverse.

Generally below the Eagle on the reverse.

Man said...

I always respond, but that gold-plated cent has no collector value.

That said it is sold as a novelty item for $4-$5.

Assuming the U.S. this is probably a fake, only worth metal value.

If real $7.6 million dollars except currently it's illegal to own or sell.

I have a dime, 2010 denver mint, that is dark and is swollen on both sides like there's something stuck in the middle. It is detailed and doesn't have any faded or worn areas. It has to be a mistake from the mint but I haven't heard of any others. Any info?

Sounds like a bubble formed in after minting. Whether it happened at the mint or after it can be easily faked by heating up the coin.

No extra value.
