Finally cleared out the left side of my desk from any lingering coins. This was the last of what I thought were interesting coins I got from a huge lot a while back. Now the right side of my desk has a few "bad" coins that are crusty of almost worn that I have to photograph but that may take some time so enjoy this little filler.
It is 116 years old and from Hungary. Although dated 1893 I'm not sure if it was minted in 1893 or 1892 as the book list mintage for both years as 1892.
MAGYAR KIRÁLYI VÁLTÓPÉNZ which means Hungarian Royal token coin.
I think VÁLTÓPÉNZ should be separated to VÁLTÓ PÉNZ but my Hungarian is almost non-existent.
I think VÁLTÓPÉNZ should be separated to VÁLTÓ PÉNZ but my Hungarian is almost non-existent.
Here's the stats...
Type/Country: 10 Filler / Hungary
Year: 1893
Mintage: Unknown less than 15,753,000
Metal: 100% Nickel
Value: $0.25 in F-12(although the verdigris on this one drops the value to metal value)
There are some edge varieties but with only one I don't have enough to compare it to and little information from any other source.
Do you have a coin from Hungary and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.
32 dollars worth, for Comments/Questions click here.:
Do you have an e-mail account that I can send some pics of coins to? I have a couple of older coins that I would like to know the values of, and your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Kuhlie

Here's one last go at it..
Ok I saw them and the value I listed before changes a bit, unfortunately.
Some of them have some green spots called verdigris which makes them drop in value to almost nothing.
Although nice to find all of yours are very common and very circulated with no significant value.
ok, thank you very much for your help!
Just wondering if you have ever seen a coin like this. I cant figure out if it is gold or not.

I've never seen this coin it is probably from India because of the 3 and the trident.
Possibly from the 1800 or maybe anywhere from the 3rd to 14th century.
Unfortunately it does not look like gold because of the holes, gold is too soft to leave such cast holes.
I'm not an expert in ancient Indian coins so you would do best searching ancient coin forums, Sorry I could not help.
Thank you for your help ;)
I've just stumbled on a 1891 magyar kiralyi valto penz. The letters RB appear directly under the date. Is this anything of value? I'm the executrix for mother's estate; this must be left over from my dad's old coin collection. Thanks for any information you can offer.

It's actually KB and I would need to know the denomination? 1 Filler? 10 Francs? 1 Ducat?
How do I determine the denomination? The numeral "1" appears just above the date. If another word is supposed to be on the coin that would identify what it is, where would I find it? I've looked and can find nothing. Thanks.

This is a 1 Krajczar it just has a 1 the date and the KB which is the Kremnitz mint.
It's about $5.00 in low grade.
Thank you very much!

It is from Hungary it's 2 Filler about $2.50 it's bronze.
thanks
I found one when I was a kid, 15-20 years ago & it remained a mystery until today. It's almost just like the one shown in the link below except the year is 1897. I'm guessing it's value is similar, but as that list is for a bid, I don't know how representative of the actual value it is. (Will probably have to copy/paste the link)

Sorry this is outside my expertise.
I do not no much about ancient coins, I've never heard of this in gold only silver. The mintage would be unknown since they are so old.
I know it has been a few years since there were any comments but I have come across a 1892 hungarian coin that is 20 filler any idea what the worth of it is?
1892 hungarian coin that is 20 filler about $4.00 in fine
