Rarity, scarcity, or just plain old hard to find. Most likely the latter because $2.00 notes are not rare or particularly valuable. Yet to receive one in your change is very unlikely. The only scarcer form of U.S. money to get as change is the half dollar coin.
The only reason I got these two $2.00 bills is that the I knew the cashier. Which is a major point since people have been arrested when other cashiers have not recognized these bills and the local uninformed authorities gets involved.
The worst forms of money to use in the U.S. are as follows:
- $2.00 bill - Seldom seen, believed to be fake or no longer legal.
- Susan B. Anthony dollar coin - Seldom seen, believed to be fake or a quarter.
- Half dollar coin - Seldom seen, believed to be fake or no longer legal.
- Older bills without the strip or watermark - Believed to be fake or no longer legal.
- Golden dollars - Believed to be fake or too bulky fit in register.
Now a look at the offenders.
It has been years since I got any $2.00 bills and never from 2003.
These circulating notes were only issued for the Minneapolis, MN Federal Reserve Bank but collectible star notes were issued from the other 11 Federal Reserve Banks.
Here's the stats...
Type/Country: 2 Dollars / United States
Year: 2003
Date Printed: October 2003
Printings: 121,600,000
Run: 2nd in the I00000001B - I25600000B group
Value: $2.00 in Fine(one is fine the other not so much)
I would like to state clearly these notes are real and legal. While I'm not sure about the local state laws they should be accepted without incident.

25 $2bills that are glued together in a pad, uncirculated sequential F 35522926A -35522950A
These are not offical since glued money holds no value over face value.
Uncut sheets were sold but they would not be glued to anything.
If the glue can safetly be removed then depending on year they may have extra value.
1950 $50 bill serial number J02790575 about $75.00 should be 1950-C

At MS-65 it's about $13,000
So maybe they're hoping it will grade higher.

You were correct about the 2003-A series on the above post. Does that generally mean a higher value in UCN?
Also, I'm unclear about your earlier 1976 I-series comment. Can you clarify that again?

UNC does bring higher values but even in certified near perfect it would be about $5.00 each. They are just too common and new.

Thanks for the kind words, none of what you listed are rare but a lot depends on serial numbers, years and mintmarks. That may not change the value much but it is how collectors list and identify their collections.

Where would I be able to sell these? Is it wiser to save them or sell them and wait for their value to increase? Also, what exactly makes these bills worth more? I took them to a pawn shop to see what they though they were worth and they said they were just worth face value. Again, thanks so much!
Where would I be able to sell these? Is it wiser to save them or sell them and wait for their value to increase? Also, what exactly makes these bills worth more?
--You said these were uncut sheets and they are always worth more at least twice face value which should be $32 but these are very collectible so they go up in value quick.
I took them to a pawn shop to see what they though they were worth and they said they were just worth face value.
--they probably get a lot but if these are uncut they were trying to rip you off.

I have a 1976 2 dollar bill with a misprint on it where it is off centered. I have provivded a link with a picture of it and a normal one so you can see the big difference in them. The back of the bill is perfect almost. If you could please give me your opinion on what it is worth it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did they only make $2 bills in 1976 and 2003?
Did they only make $2 bills in 1976 and 2003?
No, 1928--A-G, 1953--A-C, 1963--A, 1976, 1995, 2003--A.
The oldest I found in my change was a 1928-G.
Oh wow. I always thought it was only 1976 and 2003. It shows that they weren't that popular, since they printed them once every 10+ years.
It shows that they weren't that popular, since they printed them once every 10+ years.
Well the 1928-1963A were printed every year, that is why they went up to G series.
After 1963A which was printed in 1966 they stretched it out.
Most people keep them until they do some research and find out most have no extra value.
I have about 50 2 dollar bills, i found five that have the letter I on it and are consecutive the serial numbers are I85845938A,I8584939A I85845940A,I85845941A,I85845942A. The bills are very crisp. they are from the 2003 series. Are they worth anythin more than 2 doolars ??

Being consecutive does not add any extra value, about $2.50 each in crisp-uncirculated condition.
Hi I have a strap of 100, 2003 $2.00 star notes uncirculated. Any idea on the value or do you need more info? Thank you in advance.

Just let me know at least one full serial.
I01174101-I01174200
I01174101*-I01174200*...2003 $2 bill
These are the more common stars about $5.00 each.
Soooo..... How or where would I sell them in Las Vegas
How or where would I sell them in Las Vegas
Since these are common most coin shops won't buy them for more than 50 cents above face.
To get the max value try eBay, looking at current auctions. Average is $350.00 for the 100 strap.
Only if they were graded could you sell each for $5.00.

hi would be greatfull for your help as there is no other similar forum for Australian notes where anyone is willing to estimate anything without inspection blah blah, I only want a round about idea so I can decide if they are worth keeping to sell or just use them as cash, very hard not to when times are hard. While i do have Rennicks 24th Ed my main confusion is to exactly how much value the consecutive order generally adds to the basic collective value of these notes, and does this increase the more consecutive notes in a row you have. Thanks for any idea.
All Australian polymer notes in UNC condition.
*) 10x $100 in consecutive order UNC
serials CC 08331674- CC 08331683

While i do have Rennicks 24th Ed my main confusion is to exactly how much value the consecutive order generally adds to the basic collective value of these notes, and does this increase the more consecutive notes in a row you have.
Consecutive notes do not generally add any value unless the notes are rare.
As for estimating your notes I cannot, I have no information on Australian notes and serial numbers. Sorry I do coins first then American notes, my knowledge on foreign notes is extremely limited.

Hello, I have an uncut sheet of 16 $2star bills, serial start at H00653XX7* and end H00953XX7* the serial # are not consecutive, can you tell me why thay aren't since they are uncut, and what the value are? they all are very crisp with no folds.... Thanks....
uncut sheet of 16 $2star bills, serial start at H00653XX7* and end H00953XX7* the serial # are not consecutive, can you tell me why
The reason is that sheet under neath is 1 number less. So imagine these big 32 or 16 uncut sheets stacked on top of each other.
Now they are cut and each stack of single notes will be consecutive. It is a layout shortcut.
It may be hard to imagine but it is the fastest way to get a stack of bills in order.
About $120.00
I got 3 $2 bills but two of them are dead next to each other and obese almost close to them the serial # is I63939587A. I63939588A. I63939565A. All from 2003 and are flat out smooth

I don't know "dead next to each other and obese" means.
That said they are just $2.00 each, they are very new and common.
I have 2 $2.00 bills with red seals and serial numbers. The first one is from 1953 with a serial number of A52186013A and the 2nd one is from 1963 with a serial number of A06955331A. They are both crisp but have been folded. Can you please tell me if they are worth anything?
Also, on the 1953 bill, In God we trust is missing above the house on the back and the front says The United States of America will pay to the bearer on demand two dollars. The 1963 bill only says The United States of America Two Dollars.

While it is not perfectly centered this is normal. Minor Faulty Alignment is common.

I have 3 $2 bills/2003A - serjes # J0419583A, J04195860A and J0419855A. The American Flag is waving behind Jefferson's head. They are in Blue World Reserve Monetary Exchange folderd and "New York" is printed above the serial number to the left of the note.

If these have other "extra" printing on them they have no value above face.
Printing images on money is considered damage.
If they are stickers that can be safely removed then about $4.00 each.

2 dollar star notes from 2003 serial numbers G00002606* and C00002606* chicago and philly same serial uncirculated
Sister notes as some call them.
About $100.00 for the set.
That said to the right collector it may go higher since it is possible to get all 12 identical serial numbers.
how much would all 12 be worth, and how could i go about finding them?!? google the serial??
how much would all 12 be worth, and how could i go about finding them?!? google the serial??
Google them, eBay search alerts, and post inquiries on coin forums.
All 12, hmmm, I never seen them at auction only on coin forums from collectors who do not sell.
I'm guessing $450 to $1,200. It is possible to buy them for $20 each but once all 12 are together I cannot see selling for anything less than $800.

The $1 notes will carry little to no premium even in choice-crisp they are just about $5.00.
If circulated then really no extra value.

A series 2003 A two dollar bill. Serial number F14629527A. Printed in Boston. There are two 'B's on the face side of the bill with numbers after them. One says B2, the other B14. Is this an error, or am I an idiot for asking?
2003 A two dollar bill. Serial number F14629527A. There are two 'B's on the face side of the bill with numbers after them. One says B2, the other B14.
No error, that is normal.
The B2 is the plate position which is where the note is positioned when printed.
The B14 is the plate number which is the ID number for the plate used for printing.
So plate B14 was set in the B2 position and it worked well. If there was an error or damage the workers would pull the plate, burn the notes and try again with B15 at B2.

Well not to dampen your spirits but they may only double in value but that still is kind of low.
That said these are great bills that every American should own.
