The Tourist

Do you have any coin and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

Yes New York City caters to tourist from around the world. They intern leave their funny money behind. That is how I got this 20 English Pence in my change and most of my foreign coins.

Also those penny squishing machines are everywhere for tourist as a cheap souvenir. The T-rex one was found on the floor of the AMNH. While the M&M squished cent was from the M&M store, the line was too long to get more.

The wheat cents at the bottom were just change finds I got from the local supermarket. Another 1944 cent which makes 19 I found. Plus a 1957D that I think is a D/D/D, a mint error but it is so dirty I can't really tell I'll label it as a D/D.

Here are the stats...

Thanks man

The Silver certificate isn't in that good of condition, though the 2 red seals are in good, but used condition.

A little wear may bring down the value about $2.00 less then I listed.

I have been reading your blog for sometime, being a beginner, I'm confused sometimes on what is actually worth holding on to and what is not. Anyway, I was at the local grocery store today and decided for giggles to ask the office for 5 rolls of nickels, I am in love with my pennies, but said oh what the heck, I've been trying to fill my book of nickles, well, the cashier gave me 5 rolls of new 2007 P's. I usually look the new ones over really quickly and then move on. Well, today when I opened the first roll half of the first roll had a glob of nickel between the D in God and the rim ( I guess what is called a Cull error?) I ended up with 24 of these, and also 22 with a glob on the G in God. There were also about 6 with a faint straight line through the face in center of coin. And about 25 with a sort of haze between the neck and the L in liberty. What should I do with these. Would you suggest selling some and how much do you think someone would pay for them. Would holding on to them make them worth more later? These are all from a new roll, with a few dings from I guess sitting in a bag from the mint. I'm sorry that my explanations are not the clearest. Thanks for any advice you can give me. I appreciate the time you give to this blog. It is very helpful and informative.

This is a Die Break or Cud error also since you have so many it is called Progression and if major, meaning very noticeable and big then they are about $1.00 each if sold together.
If they are weak then maybe twice face value for each.

22 with a glob on the G in God.
This is more common and has no extra value.

6 with a faint straight line through the face in center of coin.
This is a Die Crack and 6 would be Progression but since they are light they have very little value maybe $1.00 for all of the if sold as a set.

25 with a sort of haze between the neck and the L in liberty.
Also very common when a die becomes weak and dirty this happens, no extra value.

Depending on the eye appeal of the first error you mentioned it would be the only one with any value.

Good condtion is the lowest grade it's about $1.75.
In mint state with no scratches and like new, it would be about $80.00.

Yours is likely somewhere in between.

1994 ,170 degree rotated penny

The 1994 165 degrees is well known and possibly the last rotated reverse generally they are 105-175 degrees rotated.

That said in high grade MS-60 about $30.
MS-63 about $60.

Your seems average circulated to low grade, so about $2.00 possibly a bit more. Auction prices seem to go much higher for some strange reason.

Is the coin off-center with no rims on one end or is the rim intact and the words just not all there?
