What's Left

Do you have a coin/bill and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

My favorite part of this blog is still answering everyones questions so keep it up.

I've been so busy with school and strapped for cash that I had little time to get new coins. I have been getting more coin books as I look into expanding my collection to older, ancient or gold coins.

For fun here is a coin I found in my coin jar that is slightly special.
Can you tell what is different about it?

That person is what is wrong with eBay.
That is at most a $50.00 note.

Looking over the rest of the items being sold by this eBayer they are almost all marked up.
Some people do this on eBay to drive internet traffic to their other items. It is a scam, even if just one person falls for it the profit is thousands of dollars.

Man said...

5 dollar bill, i cant remember the year either but the numbers and seal are red instead of green what do the colors mean?

Red seals are Legal Tender Notes and had a specific amount of money set aside to make sure that if they were redeemed for silver/gold the gov't would have enough to back. It was limited so they put a red seal.

Green seals are from the Federal Reserve and has nothing backing it and is virtually unlimited.

Blue seals were backed by silver but were not limited.

Yes, Off-Centered or a Die Misalignment are common.
Unless a portion of the design or lettering is cutoff it has no extra value.

The coin on the front have a picture of a ship and say "Caribbean Mint" then on the back a picture of Fort Christian- ST Thomas. If you can point me in the right direction so that I am able to figure out an estimate that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

It is gold plated and generally sells for $0.25.

Originally they came with a tote bag and a $75 coupon for $500 sale of jewelery on board.
