Samoa First Day Cover

Do you have a foriegn coin and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

I got this from tbirde56 it's a for the First Day Cover 1967 50 Sene from Samoa.
Although the value listed below is $2.00 it is worth more because it is sealed in a first-day envelope. I would double maybe triple the price for this example.

A first day cover or envelope is issued by the country or mint for collectors to get the coins first struck. These coins are usually higher in detail, sharper and available before public gets the coin. They are sold for a premium.

The U.S. mint also sells first day covers for quarters and nickels.

Here's the stats for the coin...
Type/Country: 50 Sene / Samoa
Year: 1967
Mintage: 80,000
Metal: Copper-Nickel
Value: Unc. $2.00

Ungraded they tend to sell best on eBay for $20 or more.

Grading may cost more than the coin is worth. You always try several local dealers or check coin forum to see if anyone is buying.

But with most odd items, eBay is your best bet with good pictures and if your a good seller.

If not just keep it until you are sure you can sell for decent amount. Value only grows over time.

Hello. I have a nickel and looks like a 1968. The rim is raised pretty high and can fit a penny inside it. Its hard to read the date because all the way around it on both sides is raised. Is this worth anything besides 5 cents? Thanks

Does not sound like a true raised rim error because the date would not be affected.

Were it real about $150.00 but I think it was spooned by someone trying to make a ring.

It should be seen in hand by and expert.

I have got a 1963 nickel that when I got it 2 days ago I thought it was a 1985 p nickel but I got to examining it for a while and seen it was a 1963 nickel and it got a little bit on it but it look to be in real great shape to be a 1963 nickel but the top of the 3 is struck on the 6 and my main concern is I know Philly mint did not start putting their mint mark p on coins until 1980 and I know from 1938-1964 mint marks was on the right side of the Monticello building but I didn't see anything there and I mean it's on the back side where the mint marks would normally be and u can see the p mint mark very clear and I just seeing if anyone has ever heard of it happening before
