Do you have a quarter from Canada and want to know its value? Leave a comment
Canada has shiny quarters. Their circulating coins are considered proof-like since they reflect like a mirror. When you get them close to year of issue they stay shiny. Of course once in circulation they scratches are more noticeable.
Still I find it fascinating that I can get one of their seldom seen 2010 quarters before one from my own country. I have even seen a 2011 Canada quarter out in circulation. Also due to the Winter Olympics of 2010 you see more hockey/sports quarters than caribou quarters.
Here's the stats...
Type/Country: 25 Cents / Canada
Year: 2010 RCM Logo
Mintage: Not yet known.
Metal: 94% Steel, 3.8% Copper, 2.2% Nickel
Value: $0.25

Hey Man, what's the difference between a regular 1893 S and an 1893 S Mint Mark far right? The one I have has the mint mark right above the 'D' in Quarter Dollar. Which one do you think I have?

Well both of them are common. Although some people noticed that having the Mint Mark to the far right was more common.
A centered S is a bit tougher to find.
That said in these coins the mint mark floated from over the R to all the way past the O.
This may help...

Thanks for the help, just my luck it seems to finally find an error (well kind of) and have it be less than the regular, whatever, I'm still happy.
Hi, I found a few Canadian quarters in my change box at home. I looked them up and apparently they would be worth something but I guess only in mint condition?
1) I found 2 2006 Medal of bravery quarters
2) 1973 100th anniversary Checked online it's the small bust (what is "bust")
3) 2007 womans curling Vancouver olympics
4) also have a 2007 skiing and biathlon
Thx in advance
Side note: found a 1982 fifty cent piece too. Will check for a blog on that one.

1) 2006 Medal of bravery quarters
3) 2007 womans curling Vancouver olympics
4) 2007 skiing and biathlon
These are all modern and even in mint state it would be just a little about $0.25.
2) 1973 100th anniversary Checked online it's the small bust (what is "bust")
Bust is the head and shoulder of a person made in stone or metal.
Small bust is common with no extra value.
Side note: found a 1982 fifty cent piece too.
This one also has a variety called small or large beads. I can't find any good images online now but you may want to do some research.
i have a Canadian 25 cent that has the dates 1604-2004 on the back of it...is that worth anything
Canadian 25 cent that has the dates 1604-2004 on the back of it
Just $0.25
What determines a 1947 dot quarter
What determines a 1947 dot quarter
Right after the 7 in the date towards the bottom of the 7 is a tiny dot.
what is the little symbol beneath the head? on your 2010 quarter picture?
the newer coins seem to have them.
also, i have quite a bit of pennies with P from 2003.
are they but face value?

--That is the Royal Canadian Mint logo, it's a half maple leaf over the letter M in a circle. By law it is now placed on all Canadian coins.

are they but face value?
--Just face value, this is most common of all 2003 cent types, but all 2003 cents are just face value regardless of mintmark.
2006
2006 ??? What are you referring to?
I have a 2005 Canadian quarter that appears have some copper in it. I would love to learn a bit more. I can send an image.
2005 Canadian quarter that appears have some copper in it.
Probably a stain but it could be Improperly Annealed Planchet these generally have a value of $10 or less.
Clear images are needed and the weight.
Thanks so much for your reply!
Here are a couple images.

It looks more like a stain, eventually some coin experts needs to see it in hand.
There is not enough copper in a 2005-P Canadian Quarter to cause this error, so it is odd.
If real I think I may change the estimated to $25, still not worth it to have it professionally graded. Maybe go to several local coin shops or clubs to verify.
I have a 2010 caribou quarter but front and back are not smooth and shiny. Looks like glittery??? Is this a mint error? Any worth to this?
