They are still printing $2 bills and the newest are the 2013 series. I have not found any of those but I did get another 2009 two dollar bill in my change. I did not even ask for it but I guess the cashier was out of singles.
They only made 2009 series two dollar notes February, April, June, July, and August of 2012. Those five months was enough to print about 134 million notes. That means they are not rare but still may be difficult to get in your change.
