Never heard of it. While the US didn't become the USA until 1776 many coins were minted prior to that with AMERICANA or had "States" on it.

I've seen the 1652 pine trees and the 1722 are famous. Any description would help.

  38. Hi - I got some money out of the ATM, and I noticed that one of the $20 bills doesn't have the Treasury seal over the word "Twenty" on the right side of the front of the bill. (2004A )

Any idea of how much it's worth? It is circulated but in pretty good shape. A quick Google search revealed an identical bill on eBay currently going for $56.50 with 24 more hours to go until the auction closes.

  39. 2004A $20 bill doesn't have the Treasury seal over the word "Twenty" on the right side of the front of the bill.

The book value is $75.00 in the condition you describe for a missing overprint on a twenty.

The seller you linked had a nice example but an awful picture, if you sell yours get better pictures it helps with the value.

  43. 1950 $100 bill B24322449A
sounds about-uncirculated, also sounds like a 1950-E if the s/n is right. It is the last of the 1950 series.

Which would have a value of about $250.00.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thank you very much for your reply to my inquiry re: the 1950 $100 bill. I would hardly call it uncirculated and perhaps I could "iron" it a little if needed. Oh, yes it is a "SERIES 1950 E".

Where do I go to sell it?

    Thank you,

    Kevin in Eureka, CA

    ReplyDelete
  45. Your best bet is eBay.

Any private collector would not bother with anything that is not uncirculated.

If there is a good coin shop in your area they may buy it for 75% of it's value. Some forums are also a good place to sell.

  46. How much is 1944 silver penny? i searched online and i could not find about 1944 silver penny.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 1944 silver penny

The reason you can't find anything about it is that it doesn't really exist.

1944 cents are copper but since 1943 cents were zinc/steel some bad people have colored 1944 cents in silver.
That being said some errors do exist but they are rare. Some were struck on silver dime planchets.

If you think yours is real weigh it, photograph it, size it,and email an expert like Fred Weinberg or another error specialist. But weight is the most important.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 1963 nickel just $0.05 unless it is perfect then it is $0.25.

1956 light quarter? It should weigh 6.25 grams.
Some were struck on nickel blanks and dime blanks. Weigh the coin and you should know. If it weighs 2.50 grams it was struck on a dime. If it weighs 5.00 grams it was struck on a nickel.

  74. 1950 $10 Bill, A series #H81196967A
    How much is it worth?

I meant to add on to the above comment that some one had written on it but the ink is so old and faded it looks to have been done years ago.

It is about $12.00 while the ink does take away from value this bill is so common only if the bill was crisp uncirculated will value be really effected.

  79. 1934, Bank of Boston "A", $100 dollar bill

1934 Boston $100 notes are about $120.00 in very fine the exception being any serial number between A02874576A-A02876991A, these are special and worth about double $240.00.

I assume the bill year is 1934 not 1934A or 1934B. It should say "SERIES OF 1934" with no letters beneath it.

First a 1934A Series Twenty Dollar Bill with Hawaii printed twice on the front and once across the back. It also has red serial numbers.

It's a 1969 canadian 1 cent coin, in every point identical to a normal 1969 1 cent coin (Elizabeth II, maple twig design), except that it seems to be made out of nickel, like 5 or 10 cent coins. It seems to be in perfect mint condition.

Anyone have any idea where this coin come from, and how much it could possibly be worth?

First thing is to weigh it to see what kind of error it is.

If it's a fake it should weigh 3.24 grams.
If it is something else then the weight may tell if it came from a nickel, dime, or foreign blank.

In such a high grade it's about $100.00 as for the guide mark it is an error but a very minor one. So I'm not sure if it will lower or raise the value.

That would depend on the collector but these days errors are very collectible.

Also checking on eBay for similar notes is could for pricing.

    Serial number: B50045782H Series 1950 C

Your note is very common from the serial number the book says exactly 120,520,000 were printed.
From that and recent auctions your note has a value of about $12.50 in very-fine.

Anything less then very-fine is just face value.

Unless a second note appears the offset would lower the value.

You can't but you can post them online at either imageshack or Photobucket for free and drop a link on any of the comments.
