Some more foreign coins

Do you have a foreign coin and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

I got the biggest three from Hodgepodge and the other two were found in change. Recently I've been finding more foreign coins then U.S. coins. I did find a 1946 penny and some modern state quarters and new nickels but nothing in good shape or special.

Here's the stats for these coins...
Type/Country: 1 Rupee / India-British
Year: 1918 (c)
Mintage: 205,420,000
Metal: 0.9170 Silver
Value: XF $12.50 There is a cut/damage on the coin.

Type/Country: 50 Centavos / Philippines
Year: 1945-S
Mintage: 18,120,000
Metal: 0.7500 Silver
Value: BU $12.00

Type/Country: 1 Cent / Canada
Year: 1903
Mintage: 4,000,000
Metal: 95% Copper, 4% Tin, 1% Zinc
Value: XF-40 $6.00 or MS-60 $30.00

Type/Country: 1 Cent / Canada
Year: 2005-P
Mintage: 30,525,000
Metal: 94% Steel, 4.5% Copper, 1.5% Nickel
Value: Unc. $0.25

Type/Country: 2 Euro Cents / Ireland
Year: 2002
Mintage: 354,643,386
Metal: Copper Plated Steel
Value: Unc. $0.50 Bad example definitely worth less.

This is called a Missing Overprint Error and in extra-fine it is about $500.00.

The best place to sell this type of error is eBay. If you have a local coin shop expect to get $300.00 or more.

Coin forums are also good places to sell but you need good pictures of the note.

Faulty Alignment error about $450.00 but there are some that were sold in sheets so it is possible this is a home cut fake.
I don't know which ones were sold in sheets but if the serial number is crossing into the design then it is a real error.

This is a collector's item and is on the fringe of the hobby, currently there is not a big market.

Plus having them sign and uncut sheet is not typical.
Most uncirculated single notes go for $15 - $25 this one is should be at least that much but I have no auctions to compare, sorry.

If I see anything I'll update but there is not enough sales for an accurate value.

The letters that go around him start at the bottom under his neck and start with what looks to be the word EDWARD but fades out until the back of his head and then reads DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: RE, then fades out and begins again in front of his mouth, DEF:IND:IMP:. On the back of the coin is a man sitting that looks like a Roman Viking holding a three forked long staph. Around him reads ONE PENNY and under him has a date of 1907. The color looks to be copper or a dull faded bronze. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, bean5383

All are, in my opinion Excellent condition, because they have been boxed up and not handled. Does 1964 have a bearing on foreign currency? Is it only on Silver coins. Some really look cool and are octagon shaped or have hole in center of coin. Just curious about the value between silver & bronze on foreign coins compared to USA coins and if there is a date for foreign currency value as well. Thanks

Misaligned Overprint in circulated condition maybe $4.00 but a lot depends on eye appeal.

In general this is a minor error and would be difficult to sell.

All 1985 Rupees were copper-nickel mix making them a silverish color.

    They are about $0.30

    For values try NGC coins...
    http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/World-Coin-Price-Guide.aspx

And for selling anything under $100 use eBay.
Over for $100 maybe Heritage or sell privately on forums or in coin shops.

  108. 10 dollar bill that's cut wrong. d3/4 of the bill is moved down an the next bill is showing on top and it's a star note...1990 and it is uncirculated

A lot depends on serial number but if real it is a minor Cutting error about $500.00.

The serial number may change the value.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I was wrong about the year :\ 2006

And the serial # is IG00614723*

Can you tell about serial numbers? Or know someone who can?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Cutting error...2006

And the serial # is IG00614723*

The serial number is good and value does not change, about $500.00.

It still needs to be verified by a grading company like PCGS.

There are initials MP or MF under the head on front of coin. It says - GEORGIVS VI D G : REX ET IND : IMP : Any idea if this is a rare coin? Thanks for any input.

    ReplyDelete
  121. $1 bill with a line that appears to be misprinted through it.

Without seeing the error I think it may be a bank stamp or another false error because a single line is not normal when printing.

That said if a true error it may be Ink Smear at $5.00 or less.

Unless you mean a blank white line?
