2009 Namibia 10 Cents

It has been years since I last found a coin from Namibia. The fact is all African coins are difficult to find in my change for various reason but that does not mean they are rare.

On the front of the coin is the national arms of the Republic of Namibia. It has an African fish eagle on top of a traditional head band with a six diamond pattern. The shield has a sun and band. The two supporters are native oryx. All on top of a sand dune.

On the reverse is a sun design and a native camelthorn tree. The 10 c denomination is 10 cents. Currently 1 Namibian dollar is about 8 cents so this coin is worth less than 1 cent in currency exchange.

Mintage figures are not known and production of coins has not been steady. They last made a ten cent coin in 2002.

Here's the stats for this coin...
Type/Country: 10 Cents / Namibia
Year: 2009
Mintage: Unknown.
Metal: Nickel Plated Steel
Value: $0.35 in XF, $1.00 in UNC

Do you have any Namibian coins and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.
