The newest $20 bill is the 2013 series (as of August 2014). They began printing them on October 2013 with the MA-A serial numbers.
No major updates except for the Rios-Lew signatures. Still it is nice to get a new bill that is still crisp for face value. Wait another 80 years before the value goes up, assuming we are still using money in that time.
Here's the stats for this bill...

Year: 2013
Printings: Unknown
Printed: December 2013

Quick question, possibly of the dumb variety. On a 2013 series $20 the size of the face plate number on 1 jumped out at me and is considerably larger than the others I have, and since I only have a handful from 2013 I can't find another like it besides an earlier series from a different reserve. Googled everything I could think of so any response is appreciated. Not looking to find its worth more than face value, just curious.

ReplyDeleteYou are correct ever since the 2006 series the new machines now print the large numbers.
Hello I have a pair of $20s that I just received that were sequential. My first though and feel as they were so crisp was that they were fake. So I went to see how common sequential notes are. Everything said that they absolutely are common but could be work more based on some factors one being interesting number pattern. The serial number for both bills are MK 17484917 A, and MK 17484918 A considering the repeating/ sequential latter on the lower number then the bookend sequential pattern on th e second bill could they be worth more? Thanks so much for your help.

ReplyDeleteNone of these notes qualify as ladder or bookends. They are common and as far as I can tell have no fancy numbers.
I have five 2006 $20 bills but one of them has what looks like it has a quail ( bird ) on the back upper right corner. Is this common? I just got it from a bank

ReplyDeleteNot fancy enough if that first number was 2 maybe, just face value.
Hello...I have a 2013 twenty dollar bill that the serial numbers and both seals on the face of the bill appear to be double struck. The ink is very dark and bold much more so than other bills. Could this be worth anything. If its may be worth something I can post a picture later. Thanks

ReplyDeleteVery dark and bold is not doubling, just an over ink error, about $40.00
