1962 Nickel

With little change finds to brag about I present another older nickel. Since nickels have the longest unchanged designs except for mint mark locations the design was the same from 1938-2003. Even now the back of the nickel is the same as before.



I do enjoy the streaks often seen on these older nickels. This has a bit of verdigris most likely because the copper is leeching out. Often older coins are washed and heated dry to clean by banks and other money changers because they do get dirty in circulation. Nickels survive being cleaned the best because of the nickel content and the thickness.

    --Any number lower than 00000100, radar numbers that can be read backwards or forwards the same 05677650, repeaters 19391939, birthdays 1121988, binary 01001010, and anything that may look cool.


    Also I have a 2009 10 dollar bill in VF condition its serial number is jl00090937b is it worth anything?

    Hey, I don't know if you'll get this but I have a question about a nickel that I'm having some difficulty figuring out...I have a 1994-P Jefferson Nickel FS and I was wondering if you know anything about them, I'm pretty sure it's the matte variety but I don't have another 1994 to compare it against lol.     Just use any other Mint State nickel that is not 1994 or 1997 to compare.

    Matte coins are sand blasted so the surface looks like a bumpy road or ocean water. You will see bumps and waves.

    A regular nickel is smooth even if not shiny.

    Unfortunately most pictures are not going to help.
