Hannah would love this coin even if it took six years to find the Denver version. Let's start with all the interesting facts, Montaña is Spanish for mountain which is how Montana got its name. There are more flatlands than mountains in Montana.
Cattle was key to Montana's success but since most of the land is arid they often died thus the skull on the back of this coin.
Big Sky Country is one of several nicknames including "The Treasure State", "Land of the Shining Mountains", and "The Last Best Place". All of which are slightly silly and does not accurately represent the state or mean anything in particular.

I have a 2005 Kansas state quarter that is missing the heads side of the coin. It only has the side with the buffalo on it. it looks like it was sliced in half and has swirl marks on it and you can see copper and "silver" color on the missing side. I work retail and found it in the bottom of a $500 box of quarters we got from the bank in 2005. What is it worth?

ReplyDeleteThe swirl marks indicate someone used a machine to cut that side so it is damaged and has no extra value.
If you still think it is a some type of error you need to post clear pictures of both sides online and share the link to see if it's possibly a real error.
