The only other $2 red seal I got in my change. This one is older than most and has only one seal which is perfectly normal. The date is also on the left side instead of the normal right side. Aside from that it still had most of the same design seen on most United States notes.
Another thing to note is that the series year of 1928 is not when it was printed. Using the G after the date and the signatures we can guess it was printed between June 1949 - January 1953. Knowing the it is also an E-A serial number it is fairly safe to assume it was printed towards the end of the run likely in 1952.
This is the last of this type of note with the seal on the left. It is fairly common and fairly new so it will not bring in any large value in circulated grade.

--It does not really raise the value if they are common serial numbers.
Most $2.00 bills are common and even in uncirculated they bills from 1976-2009 are just about $4.00.
Here are the ones worth $35.00 or more in UNC...
2003-A F-* about $35.00
1976 K-* about $85.00
1976 I-* about $75.00
All other star notes are $5 - $10.
No regular notes have any real value.

ReplyDeleteI was looking through some of your posts having to do with the run size and was wondering if the small premium also applied to $2 bills? There are a few from the 2003A series that only have one run, but seeing as the other groups are only 1-4 runs I'm guessing it doesn't make them very special.

ReplyDeleteSince $2 bills do not circulate as much even small runs survive in high grades and because of that have lower values.
Short 1 printing runs are usually double the value but in UNC that is just $5.00.
2 or more runs then in UNC is just about $2.50.

And the bill is damaged if the you cannot safely remove the plating.
This is a garbage collectible.

It is real just blurry.
The year is 1995.
Even if the year was erased the name Robert E. Rubin was the Secretary of the Treasury in 1995.
Your bill looks like it was washed so it just has face value of $2.00.
