1995 $5 Bill, G-E

Have a five dollar star note and want to know its value? Leave a comment

The last and second oldest five dollar note I have to feature. I have a 1953-A that I featured at the end of 2011 but that was an aberration. It was a rare thing to find a note older than the 1990s. The main reason for lack of older notes is that they are very different looking. 1995 was the last year of the old small portrait notes.

There is no wild purple coloring. It looks classic and green which makes it easy to spot and eliminate from circulation. Except for the odd random old note I doubt my five dollar collection will grow much. I expect maybe a few more new issues until I do not see them anymore. Still for the short while I have been collecting notes, about 10 years, from circulation only it has been a nice set.

Here's the stats for this bill...
Type/Federal Bank: $5 Note - Fort Worth / Chicago
Year: 1995
Printings: 518,400,000
Printed: March 1997
Run: 13th run out of 15 from G76800001E - G83200000E
Value:  $5.00 in Fine

Do you have a five dollar note and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

  1. I have a series of series 1977 A $5 bills in very good condition (not even creased). They range from B 11199031 C to B 11199038 C (so I have 31,32,33,34,35,36,37,and 38). Is there value in having a few bills in series order? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
