1993 Bermuda Quarter

Do you have a coin from Bermuda and want to know its value? Leave a comment

I have discussed Bermuda coins that I found before. Unfortunately I have not officially found any in 2011. Instead get a gander at this one from the vaults. It is ordinary but surprisingly low mintage, I touched on this in the last post. Certain countries tend to mint few coins mostly because of their low population. Being American you tend to forget not everyone country has a population in the hundreds of millions.

That is a yellow-billed tropical bird on top although I can not prove it.

Here's the stats ...
Type/Country: 25 Cents / Bermuda
Year: 1993
Mintage: 480,000
Metal: Copper-Nickel
Value: $0.30 in VF

I fear my direct deposits and increasing use of online pay will soon end my finds. I will try to make an effort to use more cash but the end is nigh.

Do you have a Bermudian coin and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

Thanks for the kind words I just find coins in my change and if I like them I post them.
Lately it has been tough since e-banking takes my checks and pays my bills without any change to search.

How has getting change been at your store over the past couple years? Better or worse?

  5. I have only been working there since June, but besides foreign coins, the only collectible change we get are half dollar and one dollar coins. Wheat pennies and old nickels are found in the rolls we get for the register, not from the customers.

Oh half dollars it's been years since I found one of those. From what I know of my cashier and teller friends Christmas time is when the old and odd changes comes in like crazy.

  7. We have a coinstar machine in our store, and a lot of people use it. For the old/foreign coins that do not go through, most people throw them away! I find that ridiculous, so I always get coins from that.

I wonder why it's Christmas time that the stores get old and odd change. I hope it's true for my store.

--Agreed I found silver coins from here and Canada at Coinstar, people are strange throwing away money.

--Either they over spend and are going through coin jars or kids get old coins/currency as gifts and spend them.

That is normal for a Five Cent Bermuda coin.

    It is about $0.10
