Just Under the Wire

Do you have a Canadian coin and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

Just a few hours before the new year I found one last coin and wouldn't you know it I get a Canadian coin. It's a nice one all shiny but a bit scratched.

Type/Country: 1 Cent / Canada
Year: 2007
Mintage: 938,270,000
Metal: 94% Steel, 4.5% Copper, 1.5% Nickel
Value: $0.01 in F
There is a less common Copper-Plated Zinc variety but it's still the same value.

That brings my 2008 finds as follows:

Most Non-U.S. Coins Found(Top 3)
18 Canada
2 Bermuda
2 Great Britain

Oldest U.S. Coins Found(Top 3)
1890 One Cent
1940 One Cent
1941 Five Cents (2)

Oldest Non-U.S. Coins Found(Top 3)
1952 Canadian One Cent
1960 Canadian One Cent
1966 Canadian One Cent

Most Valuable Coin
1890 One Cent at about $3.00

Most Valuable Currency
2003-A $1.00 Star Note at about $50.00

While I only found two notes worthy to keep they had much more value than every coin put together which was 52 coins at less then $20.00 for all.

Do you have a Canadian coin and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

Chipped off means to me a jagged edge which means damage and no extra value.

If the chipped off is straight or circular in mint state is about $15.00.

  7. Okay,
Sir, i have a 1964 U.S. one cent penny with extreme print/stamp errors.
I heard that, that year was pretty much error free.
First, the coin has no edge(rim) with no signs of grinding, cutting or scraping.
This makes the coin smaller than a regular penny. It fits perfectly inside the rim of a regular penny.

Second, the L in LIBERTY is stamped on the side of the coin where the edge would have been. Also, the IN GOD WE TRUST is stamped on the top edge of the side of the coin whwere the edge would be. The 4 in the 1964 is faint but only because the mental is smeared due to the lack of an edge.

Opps, the over all condition of the coin is Good.
Used but not overly worn. Everything is very legalble.

Third, on the back of the coin, from the D in UNITED to the last A in AMERICA the metal is smeared. You can see it stamped, like, under the smeared metal. Also, the ONE CENT is not completely stamped on the bottom of each letter due to not having the edge(rim) on the coin.

To make a long story short, Sir, have You ever came across a similar coin of this year or is this coin of unique nature.

    Peace, Greg

Unfortunately I have this is damage done by someone trying to make a ring. It can easily be done with some heat and a spoon. The person usually wants to put the GOD motto visible.

An error like this can't exist.

Maybe $20 - $25. For collectors these are damaged but as art they may have a little above face value.

Ebay is the only place these can be sold and maybe as the new quarters come out they may go up but only by a very small amount.

  24. 2008 5 cent canadian coin and its not as thick as a dime

It could be an off metal error. You need to weigh it it could be about $400.00 if it is a nickel struck on a dime.
