1964 Proof Set

Do you have a proof set and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

This is a 1964 proof set in the original government packaging sent to me by Iwog.

A good way to tell the original packaging is intact is by the yellowing marks on the inner papers. They all have the same pattern.

It still is possible to find these sets and others in original packages for cheap about $20.

Here's the stats for this set...
Type: Proof Set
Year: 1964
Mintage: 3,950,762
Metal: 3 silver coins, 1 nickel, 1 copper penny
Value: In original package $20.00($7.00 increase since 2008)

  3. Hello, I had just bought one Philadelphia 1964 silver proof set and later inspected the coins. There seems to be marks and finger prints on the half kennedy and the quarter. I was just wondering if that degrades the value. I paid $15.00 for it.

Sorry for the late reply I completely missed this comment.
Yes this degrades the value and leaves the set at about $15.00 because silver is at $13.33 per ounce.

  10. I have a set of coins encased in plastic consisting of two each 1964
Kennedy halves, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies. Ten coins total.

I also have the same thing in a 1963 Franklin set. What would the value be to a dealer?
