It has mint luster present, few small scratches and a ding to the rim. It has the KG initials on the obverse at top left and the MP mark on the reverse below the neck.
Edge is plain. Up to that point its normal...

However; its for sure not the typical bronze km36 type as its silver in tone. It also is not listed in my 2013 standard catalog under trial strikes and other misc off strikes (although there are cuni examples from years prior). The diameter is very close and interior rim design is like a typical km36 (which I have several frim the early 40s) - however this silver tone example appears to have one difference; a thin outer rim. The inner rim where it meets the interior rim design is a perfect match in comparison to a normal km36.

I have not had it tested to see if its copper nickel or silver - didn't want to damage it further if it ended up being something unique.

I hesitate to think its a copy of something since the quality of the strike is great, Perth quality, and I have not found any similar items it would have been made to look like (except for an actual '39 penny which would book for like 8$ US in this condition, ie. very unlikely to be copied.)?

Any help you could provide would be great. Thank you.

ChrisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14411073.post-65868623116941854832014-03-12T00:18:12.595-04:002014-03-12T00:18:12.595-04:001 cent pieces made it to America as they were made...1 cent pieces made it to America as they were made no longer legal tender in 1990

That is the greatest part of collecting from change...anything is possible.

I found coins from the 1800's in my change.Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02349516488425977793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14411073.post-44466004680230022562014-03-11T02:12:29.914-04:002014-03-11T02:12:29.914-04:00Still wondering how those 1 cent pieces made it to...Still wondering how those 1 cent pieces made it to America as they were made no longer legal tender in 1990 :DAussie Kidnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14411073.post-9190600665831568162013-10-23T05:15:23.764-04:002013-10-23T05:15:23.764-04:00elizabeth 11 from australia 2006
